Remaining 2024 uncommitted

#22 Kiyomi McMiller heading to Rutgers.

Congrats to @triaddukefan and @HuskyFan1125 for guessing correctly!

And now there are three. Reminder that Strong's list is in italics as it has not been confirmed.

Here are the guesses for the final three:

Good...even necessary...get for Coach Coquese Washington and Rutgers. Coach Q got one of the "Jersey Girls" to stay home. Now, we'll see if she gets the other -- Mikayla Blakes -- to do the same.

Any dates on announcements from the Final Three?

The only thing I've seen online is in October, Blakes and Rudolph would be committing "soon."

This is basically Coach Washington and staff's first "full" recruiting season at RU since she came on so late the previous year, so this is obviously a huge get.

IF (and it's a big IF) they pull off Blakes (and get the two top NJ recruits in the class of 2024) it will be a VERY promising sign of things to come. This is why the transfer home of Destiny Adams was so important.

As a Jersey guy, I totally agree with you. Blakes plays for Rutgers Prep and their coach is a Rutgers icon, so that could open things up for Coach Q. As you know, there's a lot of good ball in the state, from the Jersey Shore to Newark and Paterson and the Bergen/northern Passaic area. Getting two frosh on top of Adams would be a statement and possible "get in the door" statement.

Puzzled by Coach Q, given her good reputation. Can she still coach? Without Maggie Lucas? She stabilized PSU after the fade out of the Portland era. Then she rode Lucas to 4 very good years. Then nothing.

Thought Rutgers played with very poor effort last night. Not a good look, IMO.

I’m confused. What does this have to do with the uncommitted??

My apologies. Was responding to the posts about Coach Q and her recruiting. I’ve since deleted my offending post. Will be happy to later delete this one.

No need. We all make mistakes or confuse someone

Certainly doesn't hurt that the men's team just brought in their top recruit of all time in New Jersey's Dylan Harper (ranked #2 nationally).

Papa Harper has certainly bought into Steve Pickiell's stewardship and/or Rutgers as a whole.

I’ve always liked Steve, all the way back to his UConn playing (or mostly non-playing) days. Seemed like a good guy.

Did I just read a 6'6" wing?
If so -- save for the most adamant international recruiting nudniks -- how did she fly relatively unnoticed?
ESPN's HoopGurlz recruiting reports are a shell of their former selves and even in the best of times very few international players got much recruiting coverage? No one had even heard of Alanna Smith before she committed to Stanford and she left as a decorated All-American. I tend to think almost all overseas recruits are overlooked unless major program like UConn is notably interested in them early, and so they attract the attention of the services.

Thanks. You speak truth on this subject. Most of my knowledge on Canadian players has come from our fine contributor,
@cancontent , but one does read about some prime international prospects from time to time (Awak Kuier and Kate Koval come to mind). In any case, good luck to her...6'6" wing?

Koval was in high school in the US, so not the kind of purely international prospect that the services miss.
Sorry...I'll clarify: I was watching her on internet feeds when she was still playing for Ukrainian junior teams.
(I'm Ukrainian-American so when I read a bit about a very tall kid from Kyiv on the country's national team, I dug....)

Here are the counts per school from the poll that seems like it was a million years ago. At the time, Wisconsin wasn't on the known list.

That is a very odd mix of schools. I get that Rutgers is in state for her and Vandy at least seems to be on the upswing, but Wisconsin? What in the world do they have to offer?

I didn't see the poll or you would have had three Vandy votes. I think Shea gets it done.

I wonder if Marisa Mosely built a relationship with her while she was coaching at Boston U. Other than that, I'm not sure what the connection could be.

If you are smart enough to get into Stanford, I don’t see how you don’t go to Stan-Van-UCLA.
Maybe Indiana because you’d at least get a really good basketball education from Morin.
Tenn/WI/RU would be questionable imho

There’s an article on the UConn part. From what is being said, neither duke or Georgia tech are on her list

Sloothing on our board suggests the only wbb team account she follows on socials is ours. And if she had to take more APs fall semester, she would have gotten the results in the past week, which could portend a recent admission decision. Fingers crossed, as we could really use a top recruit for our 2024 class...

Well then. Let's do a poll on the BY. Mine was a google form as I had to give multiple options for each player. Link below:

Ok, so here are some random pre-caffeine thought on her list. One big caveat - I've not followed much of this year's class recruiting, with the exception of reading a few articles.

Indiana - no clue - has #56 Faith Wiseman 6-3 F committed
Rutgers - join #22 McMiller (G)
Stanford - academics, has #42 Kennedy Ume (6-3 F), #44 Wrenwyck Ijiwoye (5-6 PG), #86 Harper Peterson (6-3 F)
Tennessee - I got nothing, incoming #35 Kaniya Boyd (5-9 G)
UCLA - seems crowded with #14 Kendall Dudley (6-2 W), #24 Avary Cain (6-1 G), Zania Socka-Nguemen (6-3 F)
Vanderbilt academics and up and coming program (yay Shea!)
Wisconsin - no clue - no top 100 players committed

Pre-caffeine thought?

Is that possible?
