Reibe has a super high release on his 3
Yeah. We still need to not get ahead of ourselves. He looks like one of the better players at the event, and looked like he belonged in the Team USA game, which probably puts him equivalent to a top ~30-50 freshman. But Australia has some of the best continuity in the event (a lot of the guys on the team play for the same CoE NBL1 team), and we have to remember how sparse and sometimes ineffective guys ranked in that range are as freshmen (Solo Ball, Diggins, Nowell for example).Furphy is much better than I anticipated. All we really needed to see from him is whether or not he looks like a player out there, he passed the test. Of course the BY will overreact to everything, the main takeaway for me is that he doesn’t look lost. He’s poised, he should be fine once he gets into our system. Excited to see what he’ll do here.
If you had asked me 6 months ago if I thought he’d get any meaningful minutes next season, I would’ve told you no. Now? He’s definitely got a chance to crack the rotation. Pretty solid if you get that out of a freshmen ranked outside of like the top 30. He’s looked really solid, I like his game.Yeah. We still need to not get ahead of ourselves. Last year we had a lot of zero/negative production bench minutes. Bare minimum Furphy appears to be a nice depth piece to start, who may come on strong at the end of the year. Similar to AK career trajectory, but with Cam vibes...coaches seem to have mined a gem here.If you had asked me 6 months ago if I thought he’d get any meaningful minutes next season, I would’ve told you no. Luke is tight with Sam Vecenie, who lives in Australia.Pretty sure Luke sniped this one. Needs a raise
In fairness, Adams de committing was more about the staff getting an experienced back up point guard in Smith than anything else. That was the roster crunch decision. And now we know why Adams decommitted. This kid can play now.
Reibe has great touch, but I'm also unsure about the release on his 3pt shot. His defense and rebounding need a lot of work, but he's gonna be a positive offensive presence.
I'm gonna be following the other big going to Washington all season, he seems like a stud.
Furphy is going to play, Ross and Stewart should be racing each other to the gym after each game.
But I'm also less sold on the idea of freshman point guard Furphy after these games. Solid handles, but some really bad turnovers and doesn't handle pressure super well. I'd like to see him create out of our system, especially coming off screens. Maybe year two or three he'll be ready for that.
Whoever said he was a point guard was off their rocker. He's a 2nd or 3rd ballhandler. Get you into your sets when your PG is being pressured and help with press breaks. Even for CoE he isn't their PG; that's the 3* kid going to Lasalle or whatever it is. With the mullet.
Gonna be tough seeing that big watching UW. He signed with Ole Miss.Reibe has great touch, but I'm also unsure about the release on his 3pt shot. His defense and rebounding need a lot of work, but he's gonna be a positive offensive presence.
