Unfortunately the way the league calls games has zero to do with how atrocious our defense is.If you're right we should breeze to #7. I, for one, will enjoy it even more than the first 6!

The purpose of a blog is to state opinion and facts. you "need" to get over that folks dont' agree with you sometimes. The rest of us do not need to get over anything about the refs or anything else simply because you say so.This board needs to get over the “referee” conspiracy. We let a team shoot 75% against us over an entire half. Process that for a moment. Teams don’t shoot that well in warm ups
We are atrocious defensively. We’ve been atrocious defensively all year. There is NO referee conspiracy against us. The conference does not hate us. In fact, we’ve probably been the best thing for it since we left.
Refs miss calls both ways EVERY GAME. Get over it. We laid a BIG FAT EGG tonight. That’s on the coaches and players and no one eise.
No wonder everyone hates us.
Smart is a smart man…..pun intended.
Especially when you consider that they let Kalkenbrenner body up on every player that comes into the lane,,, Yes hand are up but he’s doing exactly what they are calling on Alex EVERY Defensive play, no whistle. The 2 bad out of bounds calls seemed to suck the momentum out from under them.
More even than the missed bunny by Diarra that would've made the arena erupt even more.
The phantom fouls on Alex were basically given because McDermott was calling for it. You could see McDermott stomping and demanding it. Not sure what Alex was supposed to do. Green put his arm out and hooked him and Alex clamped it there. Is Alex supposed to raise his arms out of his defensive posture to give Green a free release and the advantage? Alex kept his arms down to get stability or leverage.
That is a nutty foul call.
But McDermott demanded it and the official complied.

We’re too arrogant and spoiled. Why hasn’t anyone done an expose on the massive conspiracy by all refs, across the country, against UConn? This is the BIGGEST STORY IN ALL OF SPORTS!!!!!
Question for those that pollute this board with their theory that every single ref in college basketball is out to get UConn: If this conspiracy is so obvious, why do any players or coaches come to UConn? If there is a massive conspiracy to destroy UConn, why would anyone play for UConn? Why doesn't UConn just shut its basketball program down if there is an obvious and far-ranging conspiracy to destroy the athletic program?
The ref complaining is perhaps the biggest waste of mental bandwidth as a sports fan. It’s unfortunate so many tribal chuckleheads get pulled into it and clog the white space.
If the refs are working for you, then revise your strategy. They’re a constant part of the game.
See Shake Smart quote the refs are consistently bad and he said it in a way that makes it very hard to discipline him but when I heard that I realized it was a genius comment. We played badly last night but still had a chance to win then two consecutive benefit of the doubt calls go against us. The league sees they were both bad calls at critical times yet we never hear of any accountability. This board needs to get over the “referee” conspiracy. He said the team that gets less fouls called will probably win. They would have gotten rolled no matter what the refs. But yes BE refs do let things go, so build teams to take advantage of it.See Shake Smart quote the refs are consistently bad and he said it in a way that makes it very hard to discipline him but when I heard that I realized it was a genius comment. I would say you are naive to think there is not a bias on how are games get officiated. But Smart’s quite sums it up perfectly our fouls get called the other teams fouls don’t.
And can you remember one time this year where a clearly bad judgement call is made it apparent the refs then confer and the call is over turned in our favor. It has happened to us at least a handful of times this year….we get no benefit of the doubt. Those two missed calls could not have been at a more game impacting moment no matter how badly we played if the refs got both of those calls right we might win the game.
If you are on this rant, you forgot to mention Kalkbrenner's moving screens. He does it constantly. Remember last year when Ashworth flopped in that game in Omaha which got a moving screen called on Clingan for his 2nd foul? Creighton player well and earned that victory. That game changed immediately when Clingan had to go to the bench.Especially when you consider that they let Kalkenbrenner body up on every player that comes into the lane,,, Yes hand are up but he’s doing exactly what they are calling on Alex EVERY Defensive play, no whistle.
Solo Ball has one v Villanova, maybe 2 plays, beautiful block / clean excellent Defense abut somehow called for a foul.
There’s not accountability for these refs… None…
My recollection was that it was more than that he went further than that I am fairly certain. I will look for the interview to see if it is available. I am certain you could find it easier than I as you seem to have significant ability in finding things online social media or otherwise than most who post here.He said the team that gets less fouls called will probably win. They would have gotten rolled no matter what the refs. But yes BE refs do let things go, so build teams to take advantage of it.
I assume that you are referring to Reed, Jr?Back to back wrong OB calls. Whether they would have changed the results much who knows. You’re supposed to play well enough to not let the refs impact a game. I’d say the awful defense and disjointed offense and a coach who doesn’t know how to develop an uber talented 5 into the core of his team are the bigger issues.
Yeah thanks for indulging meIf you are on this rant, you forgot to mention Kalkbrenner's moving screens. He does it constantly. Because the brainy-acs are still trying to figure out how UConn lost 5 of 6 games in Big East play, in January 2023, and then went on to steamroll their way to the championship. Why hasn’t anyone done an expose on the massive conspiracy by all refs, across the country, against UConn?
You’re the anti-Komani guy?Yup. There were three drives at the end of the game, two by McNeeley, one by Karaban that all could have been called (and would have if it were Johnson or Reed)
I would say worrying what other fanbases think about UConn is an even bigger waste. The ref complaining is perhaps the biggest waste of mental bandwidth as a sports fan. It’s unfortunate so many tribal chuckleheads get pulled into it and clog the white space.

I spend much less time on that then the chuckleheads here spew wasted exhaust on the refs. I feel like I’m driving behind a car load of nerds with a broken muffler.I would say worrying what other fanbases think about UConn is an even bigger waste.
"they do the best job of striking the balance of playing with violence without fouling, or without the foul being called, I should say, cuz that's not always the same"
I am not sure if this is what people are referencing, but it is pretty clear, the idea is to foul without having it called.
Everyone hates us because we have two rings in the last two years. This board needs to get over the “referee” conspiracy. We let a team shoot 75% against us over an entire half. Process that for a moment. Teams don’t shoot that well in warm ups
