woulda been nice to see the orange crush go down. we can look forward to maybe K-state taking them out...
the ball that went off triche was obviously a blown call. i think he was anticipating a foul and just didn't catch it. they blew the call, pretty simple.
the lane violation i guess was right. i don't necessarily like "procedure" type calls if they don't affect the play, but the ref saw it and called it and by the sounds of it it was the right call.
aside from that i still don't get the call on triche at the end of the first half. he got fouled on the shot before the shot clock expired, but the ball didn't leave his hand so they wave it off? that makes no sense to me, what if the foul slowed down the release?
I'm not sure where to chime in on this, but it seemed to me that the announcers were watching the wrong player. I watched the replay a bunch of times and the UNC Ash kid that went in the lane early was the one on the left side of the lane. The ball was still in the shooters hand when he stepped into the lane, though nothing that doesn't seem to happen frequently in just about every game. It was not a call that should have been made at that point in the game. As he was stepping in, so wasn't the SU player as well, though I guess one could argue that the UNC Ash kid stepped in first.he called it on the kid who went around the side, and if they call that they should call it the whole game
That looked like one of those typical plays where the refs didn't want to call a foul so instead rewarded the team that got fouled the ball. With that said, it's clearly the wrong call. You either have to call the contact or call the ball out on the SU player. It was sort of a make-up call all rolled into one play. I don't feel that was a hose play because UNC Ash got away with a foul when you really look at it.I agree. Triche really was fouled, even though it wasn't significant. Sure, the ball was out on Cuse, but if the refs were perfect, Cuse would be shooting free throws.
I think the call at the half was legit, the foul seemed after the whistle but I may reconsider if I saw a replay. The goaltend was abysmal ....
The lane violation was the correct call but its never called; that's why people are talking about it. Let's just hope Cuse loses the next game and helps all our brackets, right?
triche didn't catch it, so as far as i am concerned the ball was out before he was fouled. had he caught, it would have been a foul.I agree. Triche really was fouled, even though it wasn't significant. Sure, the ball was out on Cuse, but if the refs were perfect, Cuse would be shooting free throws.

I saw a breakdown of the call and apparently the call did go against the player beyond the arc who began to move circle in for the rebound as the ball was in the air. I've never heard of that rule and never seen it called. I've never been a big Charles Barkley fan, but he had a point when he asked, "Has anyone seen that play called all season long?" I haven't.i just read that if the player by the 3 point line pass the free throw line before the ball hits the rim its a violations i believe
