Refs gave this game to Syracuse. I don't know if UNCA would have won anyway...but the refs made sure they didn't. That lane violation call was absolutely ridiculous. That was alike a 1972 Russian Olympic basketball call.

....and now a horrible call on the out of bounds call. That wasn't even close.

The fix is in!

Is everyone blind?

Asheville kid had his foot in the lane long before the ball left the foul shooter's hands.

That's not what the ref called. He called the lane violation on the kid behind the 3 point line.

I may have been distracted by the announcer's idiocy about he lane violation. The kid had his foot in the lane a full second before the foul shot.

I'm confused. Who was behind the 3 point line? How can you violate the lane behind the 3 point line?

I saw a kid's foot in the lane a full second before the foul shot.

The ref said that the buy behind the 3-point line crossed over the 3-pt line before the shooter let go of the ball. After watching the replay, it wasn't even close...the ref just made up the call. Ridiculous.

That, I thought the announcers were saying it was on the guy behind the shooter. The guy on the lane definitely stepped in early.

By impeding the shooter. The ref clearly called in on the player coming in from behind.

If I am, I'm not the only one because clearly it was a lane violation.

You sound like Digger Phelps the other day. The ref called the violation on the guy behind te 3-pt line. So you can't argue about a foot in the lane by someone else...that wasn't the call!

And you also can't argue the out of bounds ... even if there was a foul, it was called out of bounds on UNCA which was just unfathomable given the ref's proximity to the play.

How can it be a lane violation if the guy is at the 3 point line?

My bet is that the announcer is out to lunch and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Plus, they showed 10 replays of it and the camera was cut right behind the shooter, nowhere wide enough to capture the 3 point lines. And each time the announcer was talking about the guy going up for the rebound (the guy that got the rebound) not being in the lane.

Clearly, he wasn't in the lane, nor was he in the 3 point line.

I think you guys are being confused by the idiot announcer.

Why was the announcer talking about the rebounder not being in the lane on the replays?

Then why was the announcer emphasizing that the kid who rebounded the ball wasn't in the lane? He said this repeatedly on the replay.

not to mention the missed goaltending call. The guy literally pulled the ball out from going into the basket. There is no way they missed that....they just chose not to call it.

The announcers were bad, to say the least.

Because he wasn't in the lane. He was behind the 3-pt line and called for the violation over the 3-pt line....this has nothing to do with the lane under the basket. I think you need to go back and watch the play again...you clearly missed it or are just being dense here.

No, he repeatedly referred to the kid who rebounded the ball on the replays. He said it over and over. I think you need to go back and listen to who he was referring to. He was looking at the kid who came down with the ball.
