Sadie Edwards and mom were at practice yesterday.
UConn no longer recruiting Brianna turner. (But we may have already known that?)

Who does that leave on the radar for 2014?
Westbeld from Ohio

That's some good stuff. Disappointed about Turner, but if Geno can land Wilson, that will go a long way in making 2014 the blockbuster class it really needs to be. Curious, too, that other names may pop up. Also interesting that they were in California to see Canada play. But she was playing against Samuelson's team, so i wonder if they are going harder after Canada, or if they were just really interested in Samuelson. Also interesting that other names will probably be popping up...

Edwards' stock appears to be rising since moving to point guard at Blair.

A UConn coach (or 2) watched Canada have a fabulous game (17 pts, 14 assists) in Windward's win over Mater Dei. Her top 5 schools (at least as of a couple of months ago) include UConn, Tenn, USC, Cal and Stanford. Some out in CA think she'll stay in CA to play. USC's new coach may have a great shot at getting her as one of her Windward teammates (Jaco, '13) has committed to USC. This will be an important hire for USC given the talent in CA. Will Pat Haden hire former player Cynthia Cooper-Dyke? BTW, Katie Lou Samuelson ('15) was Mater Dei's leading scorer with 23 points.

A 2015 player we'll be hearing about soon is Napheesa Collier (6-1 W, St Louis). She is definitely on UConn's radar and those of other top schools. She's originally from Jefferson City (birthplace of one Maya Moore).

Now that Turner is out, wish we had a few more BIGS on the radar for class of 2014.
Agreed. I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that we are no longer involved with Turner. I thought she could be the next great one. Maybe she will--at Baylor.

Are we still involved with Canada? I hope so. I love the HG description of her game.

ND's success with its guard-oriented offense underscores the point that you can't have too many good guards. I like the sound of Edwards. She seems like a poised kid.

I'm terribly disappointed about Turner! I remember when as a freshman, a local news source reported her committing to UConn. That was a very happy day. Today, not so much.

I think this class might be able to sneak out a win or two throughout their career.;)

Not a true center in sight....Sigh....

When we had the 3 headed monster aka the law firm of cash jones and williams none of them were true centers and they didn't do too bad.....food for thought

Doesn't Shuey count? Jones rarely started, right?

Yea she counted but I think Semper was talking about a center in one class. Jones started her junior to senior year
