I found it interesting last evening, when I was searching through various posts/threads for info on some of the current high school players, that other posters brought up the fact that there used to be a recruiting home page that consolidated info. While I am very interested in 1) UCONN WBB and 2) possible incoming recruits, I would also consider myself somewhat uninformed about 2). I know many on this Board are very well informed, including watching some of the potential recruits games or posting highlights. When reading through various posts discussing recruits, I have a hard time remembering where they play, what position they play, what are their ratings, their height and maybe most important, what recruiting class are they in.

I'm sure most posters are familiar with the book series, "XXXXX for Dummies" So here is my attempt to consolidate meaningful info on HS players who are likely on UCONN's recruiting radar.

Class of 2018:
Christyn Williams, Arkansas, 5'11" Guard, Ratings 1 (Overall) 1 (Position) 98-- Signed
Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Georgia, 6'4" Post/Forward, 5/1/98-- Signed
Ezi Magbegor, Australia, 6'4" Forward

Class of 2019:
Samantha Brunelle, Virginia, 6'2" Forward, 1/1/98

Haley Jones, CA, 6'1" Wing, 5/1/98
Laeticia Amihere, Ontario, 6'3" Forward, 2/2/98

Class of 2020:
Paige Bueckers, MN, 5'10" PG, 6/3/97
Hailey Van Lith, Washington, 5'7" PG, 5/2/?
Cameron Brink, Oregon, 6'4" Forward, 4/2/98
Kylee Watson, NJ, 6'2" Forward, 2/1/98

Class of 2021:
Azzi Fudd, DC area, 5'10" Guard
Saylor Poffenbarger, Maryland, 6'1" Guard/Wing
Amari DeBerry, NY, 6'4" Forward

I'm sure I have missed some, but these seem to be the most often mentioned.

Thanks for the added info. I just find it helpful to have the recruits segregated by Class.

This is cool, thanks!

One question, are those birth dates listed next to some prospects? If so it's a bit odd that 3 consecutive classes all appear to be born in '98 or '97. Shouldn't the '20 class be younger than the '18 class?

I thought you were going to discuss something like this, which is really for us dummies!

I guess I should have been clearer about those numbers. They are the ranking numbers I picked up from ESPN. The first number is the OVERALL ranking in that year's recruiting year. The second number is the POSITION rank in that Class and the last number is found on the ESPN site and I'm sure it is some kind of a composite rating, but I am a "Dummie" so that is all I can tell about how it is calculated. Maybe Board posters who know more about recruiting can help us out on that.

Thanks for the clarification Bills Fan.

I don't know the specifics of those numbers, but high 90's is very good. I'm not sure if anyone has ever received a score of 100.

Keep in mind that the class of 2019 cannot sign until November 2018 there is plenty of opportunity for kids to change their minds-Charli Collier! So there are quite a few quality kids in 2019 that at least considered UCONN and either didn't get an offer or decided to exclude UCONN in the down select process.

  1. Sammie Puisis OH #13 ESPN 6'1" Wing- FSU verbal
  2. River Baldwin AL #32 ESPN 6'5" Post -FSU verbal
  3. Zia Cooke OH #7 ESPN 5'9" PG - Uncommitted
  4. Anaya Peoples IL #17 ESPN 5'10" PG -ND verbal
  5. Faith Masoinis NJ #53 ESPN 6'0" Wing -MD Verbal
  6. Yasmeen Chang FL 5'10" PG- Miami Verbal
  7. Angel Jackson CA #57 ESPN 6'4" Post-Uncommitted
  8. *Breanna Beal IL #10 ESPN 6'0" wing Uncommitted

*Actually Breanna Beal might need to come off this list and go on the other list because per ESPN Summer of 2016 her two top choices were UCONN and Stanford.

Can we keep this as a permanent post near the top like Boneyard rules or UConn in the news ?

Imo it is a fantastic quick summary of who, what, where and when re possible recruits status !

2009 Brittney Griner was given a score of 99, that is the highest to date.
I recall that. Moriah and Stewie were 98. Mo was the highest regarded PG by HG at least until 2012.

Great thread - very helpful.
I read all the recruiting threads here and am fascinated by the talent level as described by some of these girls. Of course I wonder who's interested in joining U Conn; whose been offered; and then awaiting each of their decisions.
Unfortunately I don't get to see any of them play in person, just get to watch the snippets of tape posted here.
To those more m knowledgeable it seems that the next three classes has some unbelievable talents at such a young age. Is this part of the development of women's basketball or am I reading too much into it.
Thanks again for this thread and the additions made to the list.

Are you still in the Bronx? Christyn and Olivia will be playing in Brooklyn on April 8. At least a few of us will be there.

The CT high school girls tournament is at Mohegan Sun this weekend if you want to check out the local talent.
No Uconn recruits but There is one 2019 top 100 player who will be playing.

Those lists from previous years are interesting. While there is a high correlation between being ranked in the top 10 and being a major impact player in college, it is not guaranteed.

Basically, you start by circling anyone who commits to Tennessee first, then any Big10 team...

Unfortunately some of the Pac 12 teams are suspect as well. I know she battled injuries throughout her career but Jordan Adams didn't look anything like a top 10 player for USC. Joslyn Tinkle was a decent contributor but again well short of projections based on her ranking. I can't really remember Markel Walker's career at UCLA, but they've brought in quite a bit of talent under several different coaches and some of it has really not panned out.

A couple of notable exceptions t strickly due to injury. Ran into a Vicki Baugh led Sacremento high team in 2006 during the West Coast Jamboree. Freshmen Chelsea Gray's St. Mary team won the tournament. Freshmen Justine Hartman's Brea Olinda team won a division. One of the buzz items coming out of that tournament was that Baugh was every bit the player her east coast counterpart Maya Moore was. I drank the cool aide, for a while. All three players struggled with injuries during college and never lived up to thier rankings.
