"Kevin Ollie has been the main recruiter for UConn and has had a strong impact on Joseph as a long time NBA player who played the same position. Joseph cited head coach Jim Calhoun’s uncertain future as a non issue because Ollie’s presence makes Uconn just as desirable going forward"

Yet another recruit raving about Kevin Ollie. I have a feeling that these kind words are going to turn into some commitments in the fall signing period.

Of all these kids that love Ollie, how many all-americans picked UConn and how many went elsewhere despite their love for the man? It is nice to be liked but we need some of the higher rated recruits to also commit.

With all thats going on with UCONN, we don't have a lot to offer. Time to turn the page, Calhoun must go and Ollie should be made coach.

You have to have a positive relationship in place before anybody commits. Most of the time we aren't going to get the player...that is just the way the numbers work.
Right now Uconn has a lot going against it with JC's future up in the air, the NCAA ban and a less than stellar reputation. Ollie is doing a great job under less than perfect circumstances.

2011 class was pretty darn good based on high school rankings.
2012 class was largely impaired by the post season ban, and was still better than expected.
2013 class is wait and see, I don't think any kid who has praised Ollie has signed elsewhere from that class.

This. Our program's been dragged through the mud in the media for the last 3 years, we're ineligible for postseason play, and our head coach clearly will not be around much longer - and yet two top-100 kids committed in the class of 2012. Some would find that impressive.

I think with Ollie's stellar job so far in recruiting in addition to the brand new practice facility we will have in the coming years, UConn's future is pretty bright in terms of getting the best recruits.

I have a life......

Me too..........you might want to take some of that "life" to catch up on UConn basketball and the Calhoun era though because anyone who believes we have "nothing to offer" and "it's time to turn the page" doesn't spend much of their life watching basketball that's for sure!!

"your man Calhoun" Obviously a troll, as your name suggests. Why not worry about your school being Duke and UNC's biatches? Afterall, they became UConn's. Calhoun has done better than Boehiem in a shorter tenure.

Yes he has. And for much of Calhoun's tenure UConn tried to force our players to at least TRY to be real students while meeting the Gezpatcho's requirements. Who knows how long academic fraud has been going on up in Syracuse to keep the players playing.

Hey Genius, there was only one Earl the Pearl and he did not attend Syracuse. I guess it shows what you know. Zero.

Do they still field a team? It's D2 right? So I guess you must focus on D2 basketball.

That said, he did play for the Knicks, and there is a lot of cross-over between Cuse fans and Knicks fans.

I still think the best thing for UCONN to do, if Susan and Warde have the onions to do it, is to end the Calhoun era and name Ollie coach.

They don't and won't. He has a contract. They may not extend it (even if he wants it to be extended) but they won't terminate it or fire him. They would probably be run out of town if they tried to do so. His contract has two years left. He isn't leaving until then, unless he decides he wants to do so.

As to Ollie (I am a supporter of hiring him); They will do a national search and they may or may not hire Ollie. I wouldn't be shocked if they did and I wouldn't be shocked if they went with someone like Anthony Grant, Dan Hurley, Shaka Smart, Brad Stevenson or someone like that. That would be my list of first contacts at least.
