I don't get it. Why is this thread title receipts?
Think he was using receipt in the sense that a bet slip is considered a receipt. Everyone was supposed to list their “bet” on how far the Huskies would go this year.

Sweet sixteen.
We have good players, will be in the hunt, and the season will be fun, but unlike last year we‘ll be vulnerable to an off shooting night from three or a bad match up. There just arent as many tools in the toolbox. And it not a knock o a team to admiit that we dont have a defensive presence like Castle or a Clingan. Two guys like that come along every ten years if were lucky.

People had waaayyyy to high expectations with this team. We lost arguably the best guard in UConn history and the best defensive player in the last decade+ of college basketball.
And also arguably the best freshman we've had in a long time (that is now having a lot of success in the NBA). If we're still struggling in mid-January, then maybe it's time to sound the alarms.

Sweet 16, elite 8 if the bracket breaks just right.

Maybe a 4/5 seed that loses a heart breaker to a 1 seed in the s16 or loses a close game in the elite 8 as a 6 seed after getting past an 14 in round 2 and 7 or 10 in the s16.

I’m confident The D will improve with practice (it can’t get any worse) but in terms of personnel I think the best case scenario is Nowell becoming our starting PG by conference play. It’s a Hail Mary but That gives us our highest ceiling. Hurley also needs to trim the rotation:

Nowell 20 / Diarra 20
Ball 25 / Ross 15
Liam 30 / Stew 10
Alex 30 / Stew 10
Reed 30 / Samson 10
I agree with this except I would try Mahaney as the backup at his more natural 2G spot instead of Ross. I’d also like to see Abraham get a look. I remember him being discussed as an elite defender when we were recruiting him and we can use help on D right now.

Ok I wouldn’t mind seeing Abraham instead of Ross for his perimeter D potential but Mahaney looks like a 13 year old child out there I don’t wanna see him trying to guard bigger SGs

It’s a work in progress. This Maui trip was an audition for most of the team. Once a regular, solid starting five emerges and the bench minutes get established, we’ll be fine. I think Nowell being 100% is a factor. Remember, until today, he got mop up minutes, so the coaches are clearly assessing the team during bad refereeing. I cut slack.
I love your take that the Maui trip is an audition for most of the team. I feel like, while the depth of talent is true, a lack of established roles is harming our coherence as a team. The more we establish roles among this roster the better the team will come together.
