KML, Bria Hartley. Trust me, Mallory is a defensive ace.

Maybe, maybe not. It's not like Thomas has played against any great defenders.Thomas is a tougher matchup then either of the two you mentioned.

That's your opinion. If it were a glaring weakness, you would be able to support it with facts. If you frustrate them on defense they fall apart
I agree...That's your opinion. If it were a glaring weakness, you would be able to support it with facts.
I don't know what a complete team is. Maybe the 2002 team

I have to disagree on a couple of points.
Hayden has proven to be a reliable scorer this year, as has Williams. Hayden has improved GREATLY throughout the year, so don't underestimate her abilities. Williams has also picked up her scoring and rebound and they both play a bigger part in the offense now. Williams was a 1st team All-Big 12 selection. Williams and Hayden are not double-digit scorers, but they average 9.9 and 9, respectively. About as close to being a double-digit scorer as you can get without being in doubler digits.
Both Griner and Sims can be relied upon to bring in good offensive numbers. Sims averages 20+ a game against teams ranked in the top 15

Sims is great. But very inconsistant in her scoring. And 3 of those games were against Texas A&M at #14. I'm not impressed with those, as much as I'm not impressed with A&M."UConn doesn't have a starting player that before a game you can say we can count on X player to get us 20 points. If X player doesn't get the 20 points then another player will pick up the scoring slack. Too many unknowns."
"And Baylor has one. Most teams don't have players averaging 20 points a game. And having that doesn't make a team better than another. Baylor has 2 players in double figure scoring. UConn has 4. Sounds like less unknowns to me"
Sims is actually averaging more points (23.5) against teams ranked in the top 15 than BG (23.3). Baylor has two players that we know can show up with 20+ points when the game situation requires it.
Also, in the past 10 games, either Hayden or Williams have scored in double digits 9 of the 10 games, so you can rely on one of them to get double-digit scoring in each game.

Your quote of mine was about scoring 20+ points, not double digits.

Maybe I am misreading your quote, but do you not reference double digit scorers?

That was the second part of my quote. The first was about 20 point scorers.
And while 9 is close to 10, it's not 10.
Yep, I think I even said that it is as "close" to 10 as you can get without being in double digits. Now, if averaging 10.2 (Dolson) is a lot more impressive than 9.9 (Williams), I guess you have me on this one. That's one more FT every third game. They both are basically giving you 10 a night.
My point is that Baylor has 2 additional players who are more than capable of scoring in double digits on any given night. The points are spread around a bit more at UCONN because they don't have that consistent 20+ scorer. If you have BG on your team, everyone else SHOULD average a little less or you are not getting the ball to the big girl enough.
In 2009-2010 UCONN's top three scorers averaged a combined 48.2 points per game. This year, Baylor's top 3 scorers are averaging 48.0 per game...very similar stats. UCONN's top 4 that year averaged 57.1 and Baylor's top 4 this year are averaging 57.o. Baylor's top 4 scorers have very similar stats to the last UCONN title run.
I am so tired of this discussion, no offense. Numbers can be made to support any arguement. Not sure why you feel the need to defend a team that hasn't lost yet. They do a fine job of that themselves.
If I were tired of a discussion, I would probably quit discussing it. Your statement is kind of like the cell phone commercial where the girls tells her boyfriend that she is giving him the silent treatment and he says "I don't think you understand how the silent treatment works."
Not sure why you feel the need to downplay the overall team play. I am not so much as defending the team as point out what I consider to be an inaccurate assessment.
I guess we all see what we want to see, regardless of the stats.
