Would love to know what Geno says to her when they next meet!

According to Creme, Kentucky was the #3 ranked 2 seed (MD, Tenn, Ky and Duke).

Perhaps she is like Jay Bilas on the men's side. Because of the undergraduate institution (Jay - Duke; Rebecca - UConn), the commentator tends to pick against the alma mater to avoid the appearance of bias/unprofessionalism/"homerism" exhibited by some of their peers (e.g., Stuart Scott, Kenny Smith, etc.). Even though both are considered extremely knowledgeable and objective, they both seek to preserve their integrity and avoid the apperance of impropriety by picking against their respective schools, all things being (relatively) equal.

Or she thinks Baylor will win. I'm fine with that. She, Jay Bilas, Kara Lawson, et al should be objective.

I am not saying they should not be or are not objective. I think there are certain individuals who will dismiss Lobo's opinion about UConn going to the Final Four or winning the title (as with Bilas and Duke on the men's side) simply because of the fact she is a graduate, irrespective of the factual and anecdotal support she has for her selection. I think she goes out of her way to preserve that reputation and to not have anyone accuse her of being a "homer."

But it is also just as possible that she thinks Baylor will win.

The bracket looks like ND and Baylor would meet in the Semifinal. Am I missing something?

Pete take a look at the brackets again. Fresno region winner (Stanford) plays Des Moines region winner (Baylor) in one semi. Kingston winner (UConn) against Raleigh (ND) in the other

There seem to be some brackets around which aren't correct. The brackets I've seen has Baylor vs. Stanford and UConn vs. ND in the semifinals if the seedings hold.

Re: Rebecca. Maybe she's drinking the same koolaid as Peck at ESPN! Just kidding. As others have posted above, Rebecca doesn't want to be perceived as a homer (Doh!)...or she does think Baylor will win it all. Who knows?

Since Rebecca has picked UConn to win in the past, I'd say she really thinks Baylor will win.

But- that doesn't mean she WANTS them to win;)

The problem I have with Rebecca's comments is her praise for Vandy's PG Lister. She must have watched a game where she played well because she has been awful every time I have watched Vandy. Typical undersized PG... can't really do anything against defenses with big guards.

She was great against Tennessee in the game they won.

That tells me that TN's defense in that game was probably horrible. I've seen Lister play 4 or 5 times over the years and never thought she was very good.

Agree!
-UConn’s has never been favored this year by the experts to win anything - since pre-season. Such a young team? Facing such experience?
-Its not only perfectly fine, it’s the most fun part of being a fan this year!
- Objective? – Yes!
- Reasonable? Yes!
-Their track record, regarding UConn not collecting hardware this year? Well...

And to think that Rebecca is on the UCONN board of trustees and could be considered one of Geno's Bosses!

Rebecca's kids will be banned from Mr. Auriemma's really cool basement. :)
And from ever seeing the photos of her family there again. ;-) Of course, Geno, also, is picking against his team publicly so maybe not.

But this whole thread is tongue in cheek. I think.

IMHO Baylor besides having the POY in Griner is also the most complete team and should be favored by most to win the National Championship. Now if somehow Sims gets into foul trouble and has to sit major minutes then Baylor could easily lose. Baylor can win if Griner sits major minutes, don't think they can if Sims does.
