Rebecca Lobo Hall Of Fame Speech

That was a wonderful speech. I absolutely loved seeing her get choked up at the end as she thanked Geno for helping make her who she is today. If that doesn't speak volumes about the impact he has on each and every one of his players, I don't know what does. So proud of her, but also proud of Geno, CD, and the entire Husky family - we are so blessed to be privileged enough to be UCONN fans and go on this incredible decades long (so far) journey.

Hilarious line about the height-challenged dentist - maybe the best of many great ones. Just an amazing speech. Boy is she special.
 
Nice article in SI by hubby. Maybe someone with more tech savvy can link it. I saw it on Twitter. Rebecca's comments there are worth signing up (I dont actually tweet). Love her observations about sports, airline travel, her kids, and life in general.

The camera was great catching her children who seemed absolutely riveted to her speech. I'm willing to bet that they will worship their mother for at least a week!!!

Occurred to me it would have been cool if she worked in a " Geno, he's so dope I could talk to him for hours."
 
I recorded the full ceremony and watched it this morning and there were many wonderful presentations with Ms. Lobo's being truly special. What struck me most and probably echoed as loud as ever was the fact Geno was brought up on stage by others and shows how well respected and admired by the Hall and the basketball community, which I know we sort of take for granted here. As this is Rebecca's speech thread, I will only add that her give and take with him on not only the broadcasts but on the SNY access is and has been one of mutual respect that we all get to enjoy. This speech sums it up quite nicely! :)

And she just did a whole bunch more, with that closing 30 seconds, "You changed my life" speech, which will go a long way to ensure UConn will continue to get the best players (yes, it's true - we do).
