Ray knew KG would react like that. That's why he was smiling when he did it. He knows KG is just a big phony.
KG is just pandering to Boston fans so they hold him in high regard as his career winds down. He figures that he can be a Bean Town hero if he acts deeply loyal. Reality is, KG is done in Boston when his contract is up and he'll retire. Ray was in a different situation. His contract was up and he was still averaging 15ppg getting scraps. As Ray showed in 2 minutes on the floor, he can still score 20ppg with minimal touches if given the ball. If he is healthy, Ray will do great in Miami.
This post is so far from dead on. It's pretty hysterical, actually.
KG is not well liked around the league, and he has himself to blame for that. But you know who does like him? His teammates, former teammates and coaches. Isn't that far more important?
And what the **** does "KG is just pandering to Boston fans so they hold him in high regard as his career winds down" mean? That's just a baseless statement. He's going to be a 1st ballot HOFers and will go down as one of the 20 best players ever. I don't think he needs to pander to anyone.
Also, I'm not sure how Ray and KG's situations were much different (you do know Ray's older, right?). Both were free agents, and both signed what will effectively be their final contracts. The only difference is that KG chose to re-sign, while Ray opted to go to Miami.
