I hear this all the time, but has Ray EVER indicated he's interested in coaching? Honest question.

Ray is always on campus mentoring the team. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him make an appearance at First Night (being as he isn't working at the moment). So, I guess, in effect, he has been coaching right along...

Also, Danny Ainge said that he wouldn't be surprised if Ray waits to see what the lay of the land is before committing to any team. It could be as long as the All-Star break. I'm thinking, how would Ainge know what Ray's plans are, unless they've been talking. Don't see him returning to Boston as long as Rondo is there, but he has consistently said he would like to retire as a Celtic. What say you, Yarders? Think there's a possibility Ray returns to Boston for his final season?

I could see him as an NBA assistant where he instructs shooting and what not, but I don't really see him as a college coach at this time. imo I see him spending time with family before he jumps right in to another gig.

No idea why Ainge and Ray would be talking. Ray's playing it pretty close to the vest. And if Danny's talking to the media about it, I doubt Ray's been confiding in him. I think Ainge is just reading the tea leaves, as that move is what a lot of older hired guns do. A lot can happen between now and mid year. You get to see how teams are shaking out. Who needs what. Maybe somebody gets hurt and opens a spot somewhere unexpected. Then try to pick the most likely championship team.

100% don't see Ray as a Celtic this year.

Talking heads yesterday were quoting Ainge, and one of them said, yeah, why would he want to sign before training camp? He can just play golf until he decided which team gives him the best shot at another ring.

Does he realize he's talking about Ray Allen? The guy trains harder every day than any team will put him through in training camp!

I'm sure Lebron is giving Ray a call every day, if he returns he is either going to Cleveland or the La Clips I would think.

As for Ray coaching I don't see it. I would welcome ray being a Uconn assistant but I would find it odd to have an assistant coach being more famous then a HC. I see Ray acting and doing some NBA TV work when he does decide to retire, it would be great to see Ray on those open court segments with the other former NBA players on the crew.

Did you know Shabazz was 5 when Ray entered the NBA, when Daniel Hamilton was born Ray was playing for Uconn.

3432...Thank you for posting that! I became a fan of Ray's when I'd see him with his daughter on his lap watching the UCONN women's team. With all of the of the stuff he's done throughout his amazing basketball career, that's the thing that I remember most.

I wasn't, honestly. I have an expectation that UCONN recruits great basketball players. It hasn't always followed that they were also great people. Ray was both & still is!

interestingly enough, if Ray does land with the Cavs, it could end up costing AJ a roster spot. He's played pretty well, he was shooting lights out in the 1st half against the Pacers last night, started to slow up in the 2nd half, but then hit the game winner. tweets from some Cavs beat writers from last night

Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes
I think AJ Price has solidified a spot on this #Cavs team as the third point guard. The cat can flat out shoot the ball.

Jason Lloyd

AJ Price might be the only guy in Cleveland hoping Ray Allen doesn't show up. No Allen and he might make this team. Has played well
