I was thinking the same thing about that article. Funny how that was written and then Ray hit that 3 in game six. Im happy for Ray Allen because that was probably one of the better games in NBA Finals history.I wish I could find that article from a few weeks back about Ray ruining his legacy by leaving Boston, and not having a definitive team to go into the hall of fame with. Not saying it should be the heat, but I'm pretty sure he goes down as an all-time favorite there for his game 6 shot alone.
I think the Heat may have a deal with Ray to retire his jersey if he retires there. There was some discussion about it and when Ray hit that shot in game 6 I immediately thought, "that was the shot he needed to get his jersey hung, provided they win game 7".
Another year in Miami, with another title possible and Miami can claim him. The Heat have a short history so claiming Ray as one of their own is a good move for them. Ray also fits the mold of a guy the Heat may want in the organization again at some point.
Is Juwan Howard returning, too?
"Allen turns 38 next month, yet still played in 102 games during the regular season and playoffs for Miami. That was the most appearances by any player in the league this past season."
Conditioning!
I wouldn't doubt it. If not at the beginning of the season then at some point during. When they brought him back this year, Spoelstra's quote was "It just wasn't the same without him being around". I think he is some sort of a good luck charm or something.
