Ranking the coaching jobs

You know a statement is absurd when I find myself agreeing with a Syracuse fan on a UConn message board.

If you were looking for a head coaching job and had to chose between Uconn or Syracuse, it would not be much of a choice. The strength of the Uconn women's program is an asset to the Uconn mens basketball program, it's unique. There are no other schools that have a women's program that can enhance a mens program. So you can't use that comparison across the board.

The terms excellence, tradition, winning and championships mirror both the mens and womens programs. What potential coach would not see the bball programs as a whole and not be excited to be a part of the Uconn experience?

How exactly does the women's program "enhance" the men's? Be specific.

I happen to think our program is "enhanced" by the lacrosse program.

Convince Shaka to come and be head coach (he's holding out for that offer right now anyway). Make sure Ollie is ok with it and make him associate head coach, and obviously head of recruiting.

Those two plus the new facilities, Calhoun hanging around as the program patriarch, uconn becomes a top recruiting spot immediately.

I like the way shakas teams play, tough hard nosed. And I like Ollie's steady hand, and NBA cred.

We can all dream right?

The only 'enhancement' that the women's basketball program has on the men's is that some extra donations towards the joint practice facility may have been made by fans who solely root for the women's program.
