Fair point. Perhaps he’s just looking at size, athleticism and grasping the blocking schemes?
Even still, I agree. Live action will prove this statement to be true or false. Getting Ryan Fines in here will at least help the level of competition come Fall

UConn football coach Randy Edsall had informal meeting with reporters today to wrap up spring and look ahead. Comment that turned most heads is he believes the O line has a shot to be one of the best he's had at UConn, which is saying something given some of the O lines he's had.

UConn docked 2 scholarships, can only award 83. Huskies now at 78. "Hurts us from a standpoint I can't reward two [walk-ons]," Edsall said. Edsall said a mistake was made in compliance department working on numbers last year, some type of miscommunication or clerical error.

Lots to chew on here.

i) I have us at 77 scholarships. To have 78, my guess is that Donaldson is now on scholarship. But awarding Donaldson now means it counts towards the annual 25 head cap, vs offering it next year would exempt it from the cap.
ii) So we are capped at 83 over a clerical error! My guess is that we didn't get those mid year kids properly papered to the 2016 class. Just a guess.
iii) So which WO are getting scholarships? O'Reilly seems highly likely. Not sure on who else though.
iv) No plans for LB help? Gardner must have really showed something the last two weeks. If he's a + level player, then maybe we are indeed okay.

He was not very good in high school. He must have worked really hard, over the last year especially. I'm happy for him
