i don't think it was the connection between Sykes and Hollivay, Hollivay won't ever play with Sykes in a RU uniform since Sykes is a senior

The connection was not that they would play together. The connection was that they both were kids from small towns in the Deep South considering going to a school in the North, within a metro area that has 6 times as many people as the entire state of Mississippi. There is a huge cultural difference between Mississippi and NYC and its environs.

i don't think sykes is rachels idol like TM was/is to Samarie
