So I just read an article in the Hartford Courant titled: March Madness coming and UConn basketball fans will need to pay up to watch some Big East games. The article singles out Peacock.
I mean just about every game both men's and women's are behind a paywall other than those on network TV. You need to pay to watch ESPN, CBS Sports Network FS1, TruTV, TNT TV etc. So why single out Peacock?

Probably because Peacock is a standalone pay streaming service and the others you cite are included in the basic cable/satellite packages of many TV providers.
Some Peacock programming is now available on a limited number of cable providers under the new NBCSN network.

Are games being shown on NBC SN?
According to the Big East website, the Tournament games are only on Peacock.
Some of the regular season games streamed on Peacock were also available on NBC SN. For example, the UConn game at Villanova was available on both.
