In another thread there was some discussion on some fun nicknames for our own Cleopatra (Jana). I thought it might be fun to see what moniker BY'ers preferred for her?

Side note - in the other thread someone had mentioned "Queen of Denial", but until she starts averaging more blocks per game and is actually in the national top 10 in that category, I'm not sure she's quite ready for that! :D

Side note Jana has 17 blocks on the season. Sarah has 41!!

Was in Egypt last month so all things Jana are great for me. I prefer Queen myself.

Two historic notes sparked by Eric’s Cleopatra comment.

1) There were a few women Pharaohs, some of them quite powerful rulers.

2) Egyptian history, perhaps befitting both its length as well as the country’s geography, is quite complex, and those who ruled it in both ancient and modern times were often not native Egyptians. Cleopatra wasn’t Egyptian - she was Greek with a bit of Persian ancestry in her bloodline. (I have no idea what Jana’s ancestry is - maybe she’s another Cleopatra in the wings!)

Agree with EricLA re "Queen of Denial", but if she becomes more aggressive without fouling, she could become Pharoahious?
IMO she has a lot of potential of which we're seeing more every game. Excited to watch her develop.

I think Jana is Jana, and that's good with me. But if y'all don't want to call her Jana, I'd vote for Hatshepsut, the first major female Egyptian Pharaoh.

Yes... and Sarah also likely has 4x the minutes more playing time....

Jana has played 59% of Sarah’s minutes. However, if you look at @JRRRJ ’s Per 40 minute stats (a calculation that equalizes stats as if everyone plays 40 minutes a game), Jana leads in Total Rebounds

I'm not a fan of making up random nicknames for players. That's best left to their teammates. That said, I know people enjoy it so I generally just don't comment on these threads.

But in this case I had to comment that "queen of denial" is freaking awesome! I agree with you though, she does have to become more of a blocking threat before it works.

Queen of the Nile to me is the better choice if not going with Jana. I prefer Jana.
