I was impressed to see her at the draft she must be a great kid. Hope she does well!!
Me, too. Have there been any hints of interest from any schools yet?I have a feeling that Q could wind up at Maryland or Georgetown. We'll find out soon.
I don't think she would get serious minutes at Maryland but a team like Georgetown would be a great choice.....Me, too. Have there been any hints of interest from any schools yet?
@snowkot Thank you for posting that. That was special by Amari.Has to be Maryland to keep the UConn quota, as McLean and Deberry are graduating.
Speaking of the latter, not to derail this, but what an incredibly well done, eloquent goodnight to college basketball by what is obviously a very special person.

Poffenbarger, obviously. McLean (corrected spelling), like Amari is listed as a senior on their roster, couldn't tell if she was returning or not (link?). Either way, point stands, as there's at least 1 open UConn spot for Q.McClean has another year. Saylor is also there

Beautiful.
OK, even as this is trending Pythonesque lol, we go again.Like Paige, Mir has a red shirt year and a Covid year. She took one of those this year and has the other for next year.
You are discounting the mojo associated with her carrying a stuffed husky on the bus/plane to all the games during the tournament.Well, this guy doesn't have a clue, but I wouldn't mind seeing Q in Morgantown.
If you ever go on YouTube you know how much garbage and misinformation is spewed on some of these podcasts. I have gotten so mad when I give in and watch some of this "clickbait". Hard to believe some of the stuff on there, but again, that's the world, or country that we live in now.He is 100% correct. In addition to Q's other contributions to the program, she was responsible for making sure Paige's alarm clock was always set and that she made it to the bus without falling.
So, now you know more than Geno. You know how practices went, you know where her talent fit in, do you know if she earned more time? Like Geno I would have liked to see her play more. Wanting to see her play more doesn't mean she or the team needed her to play more. Were her talents in line with the rest of her teammates? Was she going to develop into a rotational player? Would playing her hinder the development of another player? It is UConn and BY history to adopt the last player on the bench. Q was no different, loved by all, let's hope she finds what she is looking for. The young lady is a class act and I will miss her. With all concessions to the things we can't see (practice, academics, etc.), coach's incomparably legacy, I personally found his approach with the kid appalling. Not at all infrequently, endgame, a massive lead, the bench is empty, except for her, until the last minutes. A real testament to the incredible character of the players on this team, that she always appeared, at least in the public eye, engaged, and valued.
Long way from coach's post-game, somber, hallway confession in the immediate aftermath of last season's Iowa semi-final heartbreaker. When asked about regrets, things he might have done differently, he specifically mentioned the lack of playing time afforded Samuels.
So, good for her - hopefully she'll find a spot where her personality and skill set flourish. We'll be watching and rooting.
