This is what a great game plan looks like. Butler is playing Marquette well on both ends. The quick passes by Butler's offense are screwing up Marquette's defensive rotations. On defense, a token press is burning just enough shot clock to force some rushed shots by Marquette.

On the other bench, Shaka Smart's team is getting pounded on the road in a game it needs to win, and he is cool as a cucumber. You would think it was a 2 point game looking at him.

.-.
We beat both Butler and Marquette twice, so it should be a wash for the computer numbers.

That said, perception-wise, Marquette are 2 of our 3 "marquee" wins, and having those downgraded probably hurts more than having two ho-hum wins upgraded helps.

Anybody can beat anybody in this league. That’s what makes it the best in the country.
Big East is so unpredictable this season. Maybe DePaul will beat Providence tonight. It wouldn't shock me.

Well, what a bummer. Thanks Marquette, it would be nice if could win this game against Butler. Down 4 points with 20 secons to go...can you guys pull off the miracle for us Uconn fans...please?

.-.
Ukkk. Marquette...what happened? Terrible finish, now Uconn is back to the drawing board finding quality wins other than Auburn.

They're 28th in KenPom, both wins over them are still very good wins

Well that should ensure our win at Butler stays Q2. Marq just has to stay top 30 for our home win to be Q1.

People on this board can find the negative slant in everything.
Well, I didn't, intend to be negative just had to sulk a for short period before and back to positive. Uconn has many opportunities to get more quality victories. But Marquette has a strange resume. Many good wins, for example, that Illinois win on the road was awesome...along with many wins against quality Big East foes...and than they lose to Butler tonight and are now 16-9. Still, they have time to get their stuff together and maybe have 20 wins before Big East tourney. We shall see..

Depaul up 4 on Providence away at half-time. Let's see how the second half goes. Depaul is a tough team.

.-.
Depaul up 11 to start the half. Wow. See what happens when you knock down shots.

I guess Providence was looking ahead to Villanova?
Depaul is a good team that can match many teams physically. It is a matter if they can make shots to stay in games. They are doing that today and playing very well. They did beat Xavier away too.

We were in a mid-major conference 5 minutes ago and some act like we should be embarrassed losing to top 25 Big East teams on the road. We didn't immediately pick up where we left off as the lifetakers and heartbreakers we used to be in this conference. Sure, that would have been nice but man this fanbase needs to cowboy up a bit.

“Hey Boneyard - what are you complaining about?”

“Whadda you got?”

My ruling:

PC screen was moving, but there was no call so let it go.

Under the basket - flop warning should be issued to Providence even though he didn't go down.
