I consider myself well versed in slang and also had a lot of trouble interpreting that statement.

If recruit x ends up being AMA, he's better than facey... right now. we also know didley squat about faceys eligibility.

we don't know any of that until he plays. i'd like to assume a soph facey is better than abu if eligible

I have a hard time believing some people think purvis WON'T be our starting pg in 2014-2015. That's what Ollie envisions him as. Line up - RP,Calhoun,DHAM,recruit X,Nolan. this does put a lot of pressure on purvis to make serious strides as lead guard though.

You kind of answered your initial question with your last sentence here. Purvis was never considered a point guard out of high school and didn't play much point guard for NC State last year. It would basically be a new position for him and even though he has a year of practice to get ready, we can't just assume that it will be a seamless transition.

Plus I think it's safe to say that if Ollie was 100% confident in the 2014/2015 point guard situation, he wouldn't be recruiting so many point guards.

I don't know about all that. I like the kid Abu and he's going to be a nice pickup for whoever gets him but he's not Julius Randle or anything like that. He's still pretty raw and robotic offensively and gets by on his physical gifts right now.

Yeah he's definitely not julius randle, but he's not raw either. I would call facey raw. My only gripe with Abu is his height, can't be shorter than 6'7-6'8 with his style. Abu would get buckets in the pro am, while facey hasn't really done much there.

Of all the ways to measure whether a young 4 will be able to come in and play, whether he can get buckets in a pro am has got to be at or near the bottom of the list.

To me, he's raw. Just because he can shoot a set shot from 20 feet if he's got time and room doesn't mean he's not. I'd be happy if Ollie locked him down but he's not the kid who's going to come in and get buckets from day one, i don't think. I think people are getting a little bit carried away on him.

Well, he can go up and dunk the ball over multiple opponents. He can jump out of the gym and is a hard worker. We got lots of guys who can shoot from 2o feet, nobody who can compete with big strong PF's.

I don't disagree with you, though he does have 35 pounds on Facey, for whatever that's worth. I don't know if he's built like Jeff Adrien (probably not, few are), but I'd expect an Adrien-esque impact as a freshman, and a similar career. Facey, I'm less sold on contributing from day one just because he's so thin.
