Barnes, Henson and Marshall anounce for the draft.Would probably be a good fit and beats the Hofstras of the world.

I just going to ask...Has anyone ever won two National Championships at two different schools? Maybe AO will want to be the first. I guess then he would go to UK

i would much rather play for unc's worst team than hofstra's best.

If I was AO I'd be less concerned about a NC and more about getting ready for the league.

He needs to be a featured player somewhere.

McAdoo >> AO

Certainly true, but McAdoo isn't a post player. He might play the 4 and AO could play the 5. I dunno if that's Roy Williams's style though. When's the last time UNC had a truly unskilled, post-only big man? Maybe AO is like Sean May Lite?

Let me pose this question again without wanting to "trash" Alex's game but, simply, be as real as a non-expert(that would be me!) can be. We all watch a boatload of hoops. And we certainly, especially during The Dance, get a chance to see the best 1 or 2 players at the 4 and 5 positions on the the rosters of the so-called "elite" level D-1 schools. Can anybody honestly say that Alex's skill set puts him in a position to get starter's minutes? If I was asked who would be the most likely player to fail to finish/score inside 8-10 feet, his name would top the list every single time. If I was asked which 6'9",250lb.+ player at the 4 or the 5 was the least committed to rebounding(offensive or defensive), his name would be at or near the top every single time. If I was asked which player would be the least effective consistently defending his position against the top players at these so-called "elite" level D-1 programs, his name would be at or near the top every single time.

Then factor in the issue of his being named captain after a National Championship season on a team with a ton of top quality returning and incoming players, and examine his reaction to both having his minutes challenged and to the team's crying need for leadership. I really don't understand how he can be considered for anything more than back-up minutes at most of the programs being talked about. Perhaps, a new opportunity will improve effort; but it sure as hell isn't going to miraculously turn a poor to mediocre post player into a highly skilled, impactful starter who can make a real, legitimate difference. And any talk of a future in the NBA,imho, is just nonsense. As someone stated in another thread, essentially, if Jeff Adrien can't find a spot there is no way that Alex will. Alex couldn't fill Adrien's sneakers as a UConn player nevermind having a shot on an NBA roster. His jumping ship, for me, is probably one of the all-time,bulls**t moves ever pulled by a member of any UConn team going back the some 50 odd years that I've been a fan of this great program.

That was pretty well stated.

Amazing post. Nailed it on all topics. Alex is a weak crybaby bum. I guess he's fit in nicely at Duke or Unc

I'm not even sure if you could call AO a poor man's Sean May, May was highly skilled in the post and had a jumper out to 15 feet. Their offensive games aren't comparable.

My apologies to May. In comparison, the only thing Alex has going for him is the "big body". Is that the kind of guy UNC is willing to utilize?
