I thought this performance was a chaotic mess. Pretty much what one would expect after a lengthy holiday break. I think Chen had one of her worst games. She is not dependable as a shooter, and doesn't shoot often. KK is in the same category at the moment, though a more disruptive force. It took a while for Sarah to gear up, and the other two freshmen couldn't buy a bucket. ASH had one of those starts where she misses her first shot and that is the end of her day. Jana and ICE scare me. I just don't think they are going to emerge ( I must be wrong ). But I see, by March, four guards and Sarah on the floor most of the time. Not sure AZZI will ever go 6-6 again.
We BY'ers all hope you are wrong about Jana and Ice (You do as well) but the red-shirt and normal freshmen (with the exception of SS) and sophomores really need to play more loose. Certainly they all need to stay within the UConn system that Geno and CD have but need to stop thinking and just let their innate skills that they were recruited for take over.

As for Azzi, we all are pulling for her because she has the talent. OK, maybe not going 6 for 6 but I'll take 3, 4 or 5 for 6 from 3 anytime and some great drives to the basket and pull-ups that she has demonstrated in her game. She just needs to focus on playing the way she can and not worry about her knee. (A lot easier said than done I know first hand.)

It would help if Geno didn’t pull them instantly after a mistake was made. I understand that’s how he teaches and the kids know what they are signing up for, but in this case letting them work through it on the court against those inferior teams might be more beneficial long term for the team, as a whole.
Well said. That is what the late coach Guy Lewis did with now legend Hakeem Olajuwon when he was just Akeem Olajuwon back in the day. Of course there is not right or wrong way to do things. What worked for Lewis and Olajuwon may or may not work with Coach G and Jana and Ice. At some point, you gotta just let them play and not overcoach.

And AZZI ( as far as injuries are concerned) has had it far worse than most. Can't comprehend how difficult the mental part must be.

At one point in a scramble for a loose ball, Azzi carefully steps over a Providence player on the floor neatly avoiding a potential knee tweak. She’s paying attention.
