Reed in BEAST mode. Want to see it against high level competition. But will take it against the Friars.

Nice to see the pure shot from 30 feet by Karaban.

The 5 spot is now golden for the rest of the year. Karaban will show up in March. As will Ball and McNeeley. The only concern now is PG. We need Diarra to get healthy.

Pitino disguised as the Good Humor man. I’ll take 2 toasted almonds and a chocolate eclair please.

This was the most complete game they played all year. No really bad stretches in the game.
Reed showed he can totally dominate and take over the game. He has to start and play 25+ minutes the rest of way. Samson is good but he can’t bring what Reed brought today.
I would like to see Samson get some minutes at 4 with Reed in there when Karaban takes a breather.
Yes! Except that our offense would suffer at the 4.

And the bench to consistently give something, anything. I didn't watch the game and I will be going to sleep real soon, but looking at the box score I am pleased with the win, but really disappointed in Ross, Stewart, and Mahaney.

I mean he did against St John’s twice. Not quite these numbers but still

Mahaney played like 2 minutes

Reed showed one of the more dominate games by a college center you will see in recent years. It reminded me of Bill Russell turning away a lot of driving players.

Only 1 team in history of Big East has failed to get a bid going into the Big East tournament with 21 wins.

That was 2024 St. John’s.

The Huskies must win 1 out of the last 2 home games against Marquette and Seton Hall to get to 21. I suggest if it is indeed only 1 win of the final 2 it be the latter.

Really strong performance from our bench today. 24 points, 18 rebounds, 7 blocks, 2 steals! ;)

Tarris Reed needs to play every single minute possible. If he’s not in foul trouble, or if he doesn’t need some rest, he needs to be in the game. WHAT A MONSTER GAME FROM BIG HOSS TARRIS REED!

Great three point shooting across the board as well. Great game playmaking from Diarra with 10 assists

That was fun!
Let’s be real though, it was an ideal matchup for him. Marquette won’t be giving it up over and over.

Tarris is a dominant big and I hope this is the final nail in the coffin on the even split nonsense with Samson and Reed. Hurley keeps saying he goes with the hot hand between them. That needs to be over. 24/18/6 for the beast.

Best Hass, Solo, Liam, AK, and Tarris looked together. All their jobs are easier with the big man in there.

The bench is a major problem, I'm not including Tarris because we all know he should be the starter. Going to have to ride our core 5.
Samson's two early fouls worked out, forcing Reed into the game.

Considering Providence actually has some decent size in Essandoko and Erhunmwunse, Reed's performance was especially impressive.

Best game in a long time. Some great things to see for the tournaments:

1) Taris Reed can become an offensive weapon for the team
2) Defense was much better today
3) Karaban 2-4 from 3, and just as importantly, his two misses also looked good
4) Diarra seems to be able to play through the pain and be effective, hugely important

Am encouraged by defense, bench is good for breathers at this point(Samson=bench). Kids and staff gotta feel good after last 2 games. Take another step in next game and we’ve got something. Jaylin Stewart has to find a way to contribute in a meaningful way.

The AMP was a morgue today. Once all game did their crowd get. It was very enjoyable!

My only theory is that their fan base is completely demoralized at this point. Most years I get 40 minutes of obscenities thrown at me and nothing today.

Go Huskies!!!

UConn was steady in the first half without Bal for a long stretch. Then, of course, prospered once Ball came back.

Diarra is the main key to how far we can go. Not sure if his knee is feeling better or if he's just getting better at playing through it, but he needs to be able to play 30-35 a game for us to realize our potential.

I generally like Nowell, but he needs to tighten up his handle if he's going to be able to spell Diarra for any length of time. He seems to dribble high and wide and that's not going to cut it against the defenses we see.

And I still don't agree about starting Reed, especially if he doesn't care as long as he gets minutes (which I don't think he does, he very much seems to be a what's best for the team kind of guy). If Reed can put up double doubles with 10-20+ points a game off the bench, why change things. I still think starting Samson to start off with his energy and save Reed potential early fouls is the best approach. And there may still be some matchups where Samson is the better choice for more minutes.
