Providence Post Game Thread.

That was a bar fight and we still got the title belt. Hard fought win and they showed championship level grit. Castle was our best player tonight which is great sign moving forward.

Just glad the refs didn't let PC get away with the way they always play UConn. 29 fouls called on them. That's an insane amount.

What a rock fight. Credit to PC for throwing everything they had at UConn, including the kitchen sink. Kudos for our guys for just being so tough. And for the record, I have NO problem with that dunk at the end by Stewart.

Nobody has a problem with Stewart scoring.

Perfect outcome going into a tough road game this weekend. A lot to correct and a W. They can't all be 40 point blowouts. These are the games that people used to cry and complain about losing - now they cry and complain about winning them. Progress.

“Ugh” is how I would describe that game. Tons of fouls, poor shooting by both teams, pretty bad free throw shooting for the most part too.

Also, both teams fouled a ton. Really didn’t see many bad calls. Don’t need to always blame the refs, blame bad defense.

That was bad but in fairness, Oduro had about 15 worse moving screens than the one Clingan got called for and had a number of chicken wing elbow hooks down low that went uncalled.

You have to win ugly sometimes. You will have games and you could have one of those in March ya never know ie Butler 2011.

Okay. Carter had Castle's arm locked to his hip on Castle's 5th foul. Call it even. Newton pinned that Carter layup they called on Tristen. Now you go - we can go back and forth like this all night in a game where 50 fouls are called.

Ed Cooley might be gone but this feels like the same team defensively. Grabbing, tons of contact, mucking everything up, and just daring the refs to call all the fouls. CFJ in particular had a handful of jersey through literally every screen. I don't know how PC fans can watch a full season of this.

It was tiring to hear the announcers say how good the officiating was lol. The game ran 40 or so min too long and was one of the worst called games I’ve witnessed in decades. Both teams played hard and got whistled almost every possession.

New Mexico game on right now had 4 min to go in first half when UConn game ended, just so bad.

Best part of the game was that little financial advisor in a Providence jersey getting some run at the end.
