Don't think a player has ever logged as many minutes as Bryce Cotton, kid plays every minute of every game.

Holy cow, he has played all but 3 possible minutes of BE play.

complete meltdown by Marquette, not calling a timeout before the tie up when they had 2, then the foul, man that was terrible

Not sure Marquette could have played those last 8 secs worse.

Gift for PC to keep their season on life support

Most Providence fans are tools but Cotton deserves to make a tournament.

The foul by Marquette on the inbounds with 8 seconds left was something you would see out of Pitt in a NCAA tournament game.

Sure, if Cotton catches that pass, maybe he scores and Marqutte loses anyway, but fouling him gives him basically gives the lead away. I know the kid on Marquette didn't do that intentionally, but why even challenge that much in that situation?

That was the game of the night no doubt. really enjoyed watching it. PC wins and most likely bought their ticket to the dance with this one. Before I get called out. I have no interest in PC, but I do care a TON about the current Big East. I want that conference to succeed.

If they somehow pull out a win against Creighton (lost to X and GT) on Saturday then they surely punched their ticket to the Dance

I could care less about that league it's NOT the Big East or even close, hope they crap their pants. But like super john, Cotton deserves to see the Madness. Great career, great player!

That was a game PC had to have, but they're not in the clear yet. Probably just on the positive side of the bubble. They're one of those teams that will be rooting really hard against upsets in conference tournaments.

Considering what all former BE teams did to UConn over the past 2 years, when we were down, it's hard to root for any of them including Syracuse & Pitt.
The only former BE team I root for, today, is WV. They were the only BE team, at that time, that welcomed us on the football side. Most WV posters were positive and encouraging to UConn as we entered the BE football. Let alone the reception they gave UConn after the Jasper Howard tragedy.
Can't say the same for any other former, and current BE school.
ND & Pitt supposedly rejected a large ESPN contract. This is why the BE is where it is. Naturally, ND & Pitt left for greener pastures. I do believe the ACC will eventually regret allowing ND in for all sports except FB. Certainly the BE does regret that now.

I know it isn't a popular sentiment here, but it's hard not to root for that Providence team. They've been decimated with injuries, suspensions, and all sorts of bad breaks, and the kids on the floor just keep playing hard every night. Cotton, especially, the kid deserves to play in the NCAA Tournament. Will they get there? Probably not. Unless they win @ Creighton this weekend, which seems very unlikely, especially with it being McDermott's senior day and them coming off a two game losing streak, they probably have to win two games in the BET.

If you care about the NBE than you can 't possibly be a UConn fan.
That group was a culpable as Pitt or Syracuse for the death of the real Big East.

Quick question. Did you give a single about Providence, and the rest of the Catholic-7? Would you have thought twice before jumping into the ACC/B1G if the offer came?

Exactly! So they knew that. and they did the smart thing and banded together because none of the football school cared whatsoever about the basketballs schools. Connecticut would've jumped at any offer. Unfortunately we didn't get the offer and were one of those caught in between. But I see no reason why we should hate the C-7 for doing what they needed to do all along to save the little left of Big East basketball.

I like Big East basketball, and I like what it means for the Northeast region. It represents this region. Our region may suck in FB, but we are still very good in basketball. Just for that reason I want it to thrive and to succeed as a basketball only conference. and now I can root for them and root for Connecticut also because they are in different conferences.

I exclusively blame the football schools for Connecticut's situation. Connecticut couldn't make the jump and now we are in this uncomfortable situation. Hopefully we make it out okay

There can be a gulf a mile wide btw not blaming them and actively rooting for them. I don't blame them but only really root for UConn.

If it's true Cooley is telling PC backers that UConn is ducking them, then no thanks. After reading the same idiocy from UMass fans for years about how we somehow owe their program a series, I don't want another local school yapping at our ankles.

Oh I hear ya. that's understandable. Most people have one team they are fans and exclusively root for that one alone. I have two teams I really care about: Stony Brook and Connecticut. But three league that I sympathize with and want them to do as good as possible as long as they don't face one of my teams. lol

America East
The American
The Big East

But at the end of the day I just like College ball and I have developed a strong regional attachment to it in the past couple of years. So I want the Northeast to remain competitive and be the best region in the nation, for the exception of Syracuse and Boston College which I wish they both collapsed forever...

ecasado, it probably helps us in recruiting if some of the area NBE schools by and large are underperforming. We are still recruting against some NBE schools occasionally for recruits.
I don't really have a hate at all for the NBE, but I don't want them to do well just in case

Is that what Cooley told the boosters to make them feel better about another year of not making the tournament?

PS. It is almost 11pm and you are trolling a message board for a school you no longer play or in the same league as, you need to seriously reevaluate your life man
