Prognosticators Tournament Game 7 (NC State) Predictions

I'm a bit off on this because I can't find Carnac's scores!!

So, I'll go with Oldude's score Uconn 70 The Wolf Pack, NC State, the Red team 65

A tough one for me to guess - and likely a tough game for the Huskies, but UConn wins because of a run at some point in the 2nd half that keeps NC State at bay.

UConn 70
NC State 61

NC State hasn’t lost a game by double digits all year and some of y’all are out here predicting 20-point Connecticut wins…

UCONN 71
NCST 68
About time they do (loose by double digits)…:D

The two teams have met twice in the NCAAT since the Summer Erb years, with UCONN winning both times: 2003 and 2007.
Thanks. I looked it up...they didn't play in 2003 (or '04). I'm too tired to search more. The 2007 game was the S16. I believe (if memory serves) this is the 1st E8 game between the teams since 1998. Whatever, Go Blue!

You are correct; we met in 2001 in the NCAAT, not 2003.

The 2007 game was in the Sweet 16 in Fresno; State actually led at halftime, but eventually fell, 77-71; that squad was the one that had a magical late-season run, after Coach Yow came back from missing 15 games, the floor at Reynolds Coliseum was named in her honor that year and we beat #1 and undefeated Duke in the ACCT.

UConn wins 73 - 66

All season I thought this was the year the team wouldn't make the Final Four. Especially when the Bracketology came out and UConn wasn't in the Bridgeport Region. When the Brackets were announced, I still had my doubts and even more so when they struggled against UCF. I heard so much and saw highlights on Elissa Cunane NC State center who earned 2nd Team All American team and thought she might cause problems for UConn. Now I'm not so sure. Yes, she's more consistent with her offensive game then Olivia and Dorka, but she's not superior to either Olivia or Dorka. She shouldn't present a physical challenge and should not dominate the play in tonight's game.

So the game will come down to will UConn have a poor or good shooting day. Can they stay out of foul trouble and minimize turn overs. I think UConn is the more talented team, but NC State is the more consistent team. NC State will get their points and most likely keep the game close. That's how they won the Notre Dame game, which they should have lost. UConn is subject to having the same type of turn overs that Notre Dame had which cost them the game.

My mind says NC State will win the game. However, I'm going with my heart and predict UConn wins 73 - 66. However, it won't surprise me if the scored is reversed in favor of NC State.

Uconn is 2nd in the nation in shooting percentage but NCState is 5th so not much difference.. Uconn needs to start out fast to get the lead..If it comes down to Ft's hope Azzi's shooting..Hopefully it'll be an easier game than last yrs elite 8....Uconn..68-63

I believe when Cunane gets in foul trouble NC State is challenged at the post. Her back up is a wide body but not as skilled. I would have our guards drive to the post as often as possible and hopefully get Cunane in foul trouble. If that were to happen Connecticut would have a much easier time winning. 78 to 65 Connecticut

It is tough…to determine by how large a margin UConn will win. I e settled on the MOV at 17. UConn 76 - NC State 59
