Couple things. Siegrist had to score 37 for Villanova to beat Creighton. Won't happen against UConn. And (here's my bug-a-boo about shots taken) in the game between V and C both teams only shot about 50 shots. UConn shot 67 shots against Marquette. UConn's shooting percentage was only a bit better than V and C. So...

As was said above, it isn't easy to beat a good team three times is one season. Villanova is a good team. However, they had a tough game yesterday.. It was also the later game so just a few hours less rest than the Huskies. Their three ball shooting percentage is better than the Huskies. However, the Huskies defense played piranha to Marquette's roast yesterday.

Defense wins championships. Azzi's shots drop tonight. UConn 82, Villanova 68.

IMO, whenever you play a team like 'Nova (or Iowa) with a dominant star, I would make Seigrist (sp) work hard and take a lot for shots for her 25-30 points by switching up athletic defenders. And then don't let the role players score more than 30 and limit their 3's. That keeps them around 60-65 points which makes it hard for them to win

Cautiously optimistic that UConn will limit Maddy Siegrist to 25 or few points. Additionally Maddie Burke and Lucy Olson won't have the game of their careers. IF Aaliyah and Dorka play like they have in the tournament UConn should win this game by double digits. UConn should have an easier time getting open looks compared to if they were playing Creighton.
