Boston in 1st quarter foul trouble for probably the first time in her career. She looked absolutely incredulous at both calls. Both were blatantly obvious. She probably thinks she's never committed a foul ever.

Stanford with WAY too many TOs, let South Carolina back in the game. Furd was absolutely killing them when Brink was on the floor, but when she went out with her second foul they've been struggling ever since. Card up 4 at halftime.

Brink got dinged for her 3rd foul early in Q3, but Stanford managed to maintain their lead. Prechtel doing a good job on Boston on D.

Here comes the 4Q SCAR run... Can Stanford stanch it like in the final four game, or fold like last fall? My guess is the latter, alas...

We've seen three iterations of the same game now. Pretty eerie honestly.

Iriafen over Belibi is an upgrade for the Tree.

Jump for Hull is a downgrade.

As a fan, I sure do love when these two get together.

Stanford again proved they will beat anyone on the boards.

SC’s defense forced another excellent team into turnover after turnover.

Brink was outstanding. Jones was impactful but Beal really did a number on her. Boston didn't have a great game but came up big at the end. It meant everything to see that shot roll in for her with 2.1 seconds to go. Redemption for 2021.

As an SC fan I’m ecstatic to have gotten this win on the road, but the game did nothing to change my belief that these are the clear-cut two best teams and are likely to see each other again in Dallas.

Gutsy win by SC....very even battle but SC just executed and seemed to understand their identity more down the stretch. Down 60-56 I thought it was over but SC just calmly executed and rose to the moment. Boston proved she's the best player in the country down the stretch and finally found her stride after dealing with foul trouble and not making a big impact offensively until that point. Really nice play from Hall, Beal and Amihere. Rest of the lineup I thought was fine, though Cooke struggled again. I feel like I harp on Cooke a lot, but I genuinely don't understand how SC uses her as a bailout player since she rarely ever scores when she's trying to create for herself. At this point I'd rather see someone else take over that role since it's never worked IMO having Zia in the role. I'll give her credit for hitting the game clinching free throws though after SC was brick city down the stretch.

Brink was absolutely brilliant for Stanford. So smooth and can beat you in a variety of ways offensively. I don't know how many minutes she played but it couldn't have been more than 25-30. If she could avoid dumb fouls I genuinely believe she could be in the NPOY discussion. End of game execution for Stanford was beyond dreadful though. Jones had a few nice plays but overall was quite mediocre in the 2nd half. Poor decision making, a lot of missed shots and also missed a crucial free throw down the stretch. Loved their new PG Lepolo and thought Iriafen looked great (aside from the T down the stretch).

Both teams looked rough at times but I thought it was generally a well played and hard fought game. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we see this matchup again for a championship in April.

It was the third time. Against Indiana in 2019 which was our only loss of the year, last year against Missouri that we lost. This was a big time win with Boston on the bench for over 2 quarters.

But freshly surprised every time.
You must've seen something different than I did. She hears a whistle and she starts heading for the bench. She may not agree with some of the calls against her but the last thing in the world she is, is surprised.

Tara does a talk and answers questions to the fans after weekend home games. I didn't stay for it, but sometimes opposing coaches Tara is friends with talk to the fans after the game.
Thanks. That's neat.

Brink did play really well.

End of game execution was a little dicey for both teams towards the end. I thought SC's time out mishap was going to hurt them. Then it was why wasn't Stanford fouling, but they lucked out and got the steal. Then Stanford and the extra time out call (flashbacks of Chris Webber ). Holy rollercoaster of emotions.

Amihere's offensive board late in the game was huge. Experience and desire in that play. ABC's overhead camera angle couldn't have been a better view. Coming back from 2 different ACL injuries and still able to have the vertical she does is great to see.

Didn't SC miss 4 st;raight FTs during this stretch as well?
