I know I stated that this would be posted on Thanksgiving Day, but many people are busy with family and friends so I decided to give everyone an extra 24 hours.
For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 7th game of the season and the 1st Big East game at the proverbial Big East bottom dweller the Xavier Musketeers. Xavier is currently rated #208 by Massey with a 4-2 record. Their wins are against New Haven 53-46, Purdue Fort Wayne 62-61, Ohio 74-53 and Akron 64-57. Their losses are against Dayton 66-71 and Kent 60-68. Their opponents current Massey ratings are New Haven #363, PFW #125, Dayton #152, Kent #127, Ohio #241 and Akron #321. UConn is 9-0 against the Musketeers with a conference record of 8-0. Their first game played was the only non-conference game on 3/15/99 at Storrs with an 86-74 win. Their largest MOV game was last season at Hartford 81-27, the smallest MOV was a 60-51 win at Storrs on 2/27/23.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 2:15 PM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on FS1.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or Xavier/Musketeers. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. If prior to the closing of the Prognosticator’s Predictions, you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
In the nine games played UConn has averaged 80 points while allowing an average of 44 points. I believe that UConn will limit the Musketeers scoring to below their 44-point average. While this game will not be close and UConn will play all available players, with everyone will scoring. UConn 105 – Xavier 39.
Attached is a copy of the Prognosticator's Predictions Rules and Scoring System – Tournament criteria, please read it so that you are familiar with the game rules.
