For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 23rd game of the season against longtime foe Tennessee at PeoplesBank in Hartford. UConn is 17-10 against the Vols with their first win in the Martin Luther King game on 1/16/95 77-67 they followed that win up a couple months later winning their first National Championship in Minneapolis with a 70-64 win on 4/2/95. The Tennessee vs UConn was a major women’s basketball annual event from the MLK game to 1/6/2007 then Pat stopped because of her perceived belief that UConn and ESPN poached Maya. From that point on until 1/23/20 there was no game between the two. With a UConn win both their home and away record will 7-4. The Huskies tournament record is 4-2. The Vols won the last match 76-80 in Knoxville on 2/6/25, the largest MOV loss to TN and the last UConn loss, with the Huskies currently on a 38-game winning streak. Tennessee is 14-4 and 6-1 in the SEC losing to NC State 77-80, at UCLA 77-99, Louisville 65-89 and vs Mississippi St 62-77. Both NC State & Louisville were at neutral sites. If UConn has most of their main players available, they get their revenge on Sunday.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 11:45 AM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on FOX.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or Tennessee/Vols. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. Once your prediction is posted If you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post, NO changing of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
If most players are available to play I believe that UConn will limit the Vols offense and the Vols will not be able to stop UConn's, the game won’t be close, the Huskies will win by double digits. UConn will play up tempo both on offense and defense, a defense that Tennessee has yet to play against. Huskies 85 – Vols 70.
