UConn goes to DC to play Georgetown at the Entertainment & Sports Arena and should be a sellout considering it only sits 4,200. The Hoyas are 12-2, 2-1 in Big East play a full game behind the Huskies. The BE wins were both road games against DePaul 66-62 and Butler 60-55. Their loss was at home against Seton Hall 57-49. The Hoyas Massey SoS is #177, average 59.7 points a game, 38.3 rebounds, 13 assists, 8.5 steals, 4.1 blocks, 15.2 turnovers, 39.8 FG%, 72.6 FT%, and have a 26.7 3pt%. Their best win was against DePaul and worst loss was against Fairleigh Dickinson. Offensively they are ranked 227th while defensively they are ranked 35th vs UConn being ranked 7th in both offense and defense. The only thing that UConn might have some problems with is size, and with the possibility of Aubrey sitting out, might hinder the Huskies.

Georgetown has 10 upperclassman, 7 SR's and 3 JR's, with 2 SO and a FR, so they are an experienced team. The starters for the game against Butler were Graceann Bennett (F) 6'3" SR, averaging 23.8 min, 8.2 pts, 7.3 rbds, and 1.5 ast. Ariel Jenkins (C) 6'3" JR, 8.9 min, 3.2 pts, and 1.7 rbds. Victoria Rivera (G) 6' SO, 22.4 min, 6.9 pts, 1 rbd and 1 ast. Alex Cowan (G) 5'7" SR, 32.3 min, 7 pts, 3.4 rbds, and 3 ast. Kelsey Ransom (G) 5'10" SR, 35 min, 15.5 pts, 6.5 rbds, 3.7 ast. They also have two players that play 20+ minutes on average, they are Myra Bembry (F) 6'1" SR, 25.3 min, 5.1 pts, 3.8 rbds, and 1.5 ast. Brianna Scott (F) 6'4" JR, 21.3 min, 8.8 pts, 6.8 rbds, and 1.1 ast.

  • I see a UConn having some problems with the Golden Eagles, but at the end they will wear them down and walk away with a conference win. UConn 92 - Georgetown 55.

UCONN 91 - G-town Hoyas 47; MoV: 44

The Freshmen keep improving as they all want to be the Beast Freshman of the Week.... Paige & AE continue their run to AA status. Praying that AG injury is NOT serious & she heals quickly to FULL Strength, and is able to return before the uND game.

G’town’s scores are low. I’ll call UConn by 79-61.

I was at the Georgetown game in DC last year. It was a total grind.

Aliyah may not be quite as effective in this game as Georgetown has some size. She has to stay out of foul trouble and beware of the weak side double team when it comes. If the guards are shooting well and open up the middle, this becomes less of a problem. We'll see how the team reacts to yet another injury to a key player. Still think the Huskies will have too much firepower for Georgetown to overcome.

UConn 83/Georgetown 61. 22 point MOV.

UCONN 90 Hoyas 45 MOV 45 I've been wrong by so much this year, I expect nothing
less this time around!

@MSGRET your last bullet point has said “Golden Eagles” for the last couple games. Just FYI

UConn 85 - Georgetown 57

This will be a good quiz for UConn (not quite a test) because of the size Georgetown can put on the floor. I don't think it will be that close of a game but it should be an indicator of what a bigger line up will mean on the boards. AE will hold her own for sure but who will guard the other 6'3-6'4 player? In the end though UConn is still a great team and Georgetown isn't.

UConn 84
Georgetown 58

No Griff is going to make this game a bit tougher. We will be down to 7 core players now. Good news is Fauntleroy who torched us last year transferred.
UConn 84-52

the Hoyas average fewer than 60 points per game but are strong defensively. UConn 63 Hoyas 37

For a variety of reasons, find it difficult to believe UConn can be just as intense against GTown as the past 2 Top20 games. UConn wins 84-56.
