Prognosticators Game 8 -Notre Dame- Predictions

Needless to say, this year's version of the Irish is not what we're accustomed to seeing. ND averages 66 ppg which is well below their typical scoring average. This year's team struggles from beyond the arc, making only 23% of their attempts. Brunelle and Walker take the most 3s by far, combining to make 22 of 100 attempts. This year's team also turns the ball over a lot (16.6/gm) and gives up a ton of offensive rebounds (17.7/gm). Hello Aubrey!

Similar to other ND teams, however, this year's Irish get to the foul line a lot, averaging 22 FTAs/gm. Expect lots of drives to the basket. Oh, ND's flopper extraordinaire this season is Sniezek.

Both schools typically use this game to host recruits. We'll need to check out who is sitting behind the UConn bench.

The only way the Irish beat Uconn is if they have an uncharacteristically hot streak from 3. But shooting 22.8% as a team through 10 games doesn't put much fear into me that it will happen.

Uconn 84-ND 68. Game won't feel as close as the final score.

.-.
Uconn is obviously the better team this season. Yet based on what happened during the last week I wouldn't bet the farm that the better team will win. I would certainly hope that Uconn will take last week's results to heart. Teams can not just show up and hope to win even against lesser teams anymore. Formerly unknown players could easily have the game of their lives on any given day.

So what happened last week that your basing the game on?)

UConn 92 Notre Dame 67; MOV 25

Another big game for Walker and Griffin.

92-76, Huskies prevail despite lots of foul trouble. Remember, this is ND...

Against an expected tight 2/3 zone, ONO needs to play well, producing enough on offense herself to continue to draw a double and passing to find the open corner shooter(s), ONO , etc., defensive rebounding also the key to getting transition opportunities before 2/3 set up. ONO and Aubrey offensive rebounds also 2/3 zone beaters. Rare game this year where opponent has less depth than Uconn so ND foul trouble on the road could be an issue. ND would need to score > 70 points to be competitive - don't know if they can do that. 82 - 68 Uconn

.-.
CW and CD have monster games after MM allowed last year's physical abuse of these players. I see CW going back on defense and staring down MM continuously after big buckets.

Huskies win 90 to 75.

UConn beats Irish 81-55

A rumor has it that #33 might be in the house this weekend.
This girl gets around. Thursday night at a HS game in So Cal, Saturday morning at a UConn practice in Storrs

#14 and No Bun?
