Massey doesn't think much of this match up either. They've got UConn winning by
51 points, 86-35.
Sounds about right. SMU has lost 11 of their last 15 games (3 by 20+), and are currently riding a two game losing skid. Make it three. This one will be over by half time. The starters play hard, and the bench plays harder. The season is winding down for the Mustangs. Their season was over 2 weeks ago. I don't see any post-season tournament invitations for them this season.
It will be interesting to see how Geno uses the bench in the 2nd half. I'm guessing no starter plays more than 25 minutes. With the Huskies scheduled to play their final game of the regular season in less than 48 hours against the 17th ranked (USA Today) USF Bulls, Geno may not want to play them any more than necessary. I t will be interesting to see if Walker and Coombs are still in his dog house? It's awful late in the season to still be sending messages. Any "lessons" or messages that needed to be sent, should have been sent and received by now.
I'm guessing message(s) received, and they both play.
