1. Jordan Horston vs Evina Westbrook - Horston is a complete player and Westbrook will have her hands full with her...she will need weak-side help from her teammates to limit Horston's offensive abilities and UConn will need to put a body on her to limit her rebounds. No matter what UConn does I think Jordan gets hers - ADVANTAGE Tennessee
2. Jordan Walker vs Christyn Williams - This will be a good match-up Christyn should have a good game and I expect her to be able to contain Walker - ADVANTAGE UConn
3. Rae Burrell vs Caroline Ducharme - Rae's size makes her a better match-up for Caroline rather than Christyn. Caroline Should be able to hang in there with Rae and while Rae may do better than Caroline in the rebounding category...I expect Caroline to be able to out score Rae - SLIGHT EDGE to UConn
4. Alexis Dye vs Dorka Juhasz - Dorka has 5 inches on Alexis and Dorka should be able to take Alexis down low in the paint but this is an interesting match-up because Alexis plays bigger than her size. - ADVANTAGE UConn
5. Tamari Key vs Olivia Nelson-Ododa - This will be a good match-up...both women average the same in points and rebounds. - EVEN
Bench Play - Tennessee brings 27 points and 13 rebounds off the bench while UConn brings 18.7 points and 9.2 rebounds - ADVANTAGE Tennessee
Intangibles - UConn playing at home, Dorka back, Azzi finding her rhythm, Aliyah starting to round out into form; Tennessee coming off three games in which they underperformed...hungry to show that they are still a viable tournament contender and looking for a statement game...ADVANTAGE UCONN
This will be a hard fought game...Tennessee will be relentless on the boards, UConn must shoot well from the outside as it will be difficult scoring on the bigger players from Tennessee in the paint. UConn must also force turnovers (Tennessee is turnover prone but so is UConn)...and UConn must get out in transition and score off their turnovers.
