I believe that this is not going to be pretty, I will no let pass through my writing their name. First you have ESPN televising it and calling the game The Basketball Hall of Fame Revival Series. What other teams are they going to use after next year, they are hoping that Geno agrees to keeping the series going. Second you have most likely the officiating of this game being done by none other than the worst official in WBB, De Cantor. Third you have a University coming to the XL Center, should be Gampel Pavilion, that has done everything in their power to demean and degrade UConn, they have messed over UConn too many times with the most recent event just this Summer in the handling of the transfer of Evina. With all that being said UConn will win, after watching the Puke Orange performance against Alabama on their home court and acting like they just won a NC, I do not see them winning in Hartford. UConn 78 - Orange 60. All predictions must be in 6:55 Eastern or 3:55 Pacific. Good luck to all you Prognosticators out there.

Massey sez: UConn 73 - TN 59. I'll go with that because I have no idea which UConn team is going to show up.

Tennessee's 15-3 record is a bit dubious. There were several "cupcakes" on their OOC schedule this year. On Monday (1/20) TN beat Alabama (11-7/1-4) 65-63 at home on a last second 35' heave (prayer).

How good can they be? The last ranked team they played was #13 Kentucky on Jan 5. They lost that game 80-76. I'd like to think that UConn is better than Kentucky. TN has lost to: @ Texas, @ Stanford and @ Kentucky. The only ranked team they've beaten was (at the time) @ #15 Notre Dame on Nov 11 before the Irish were exposed, and that top 25 ranking was quickly proven to be a farce.

My feelings toward the Orange folk are who cares about them. Screw them and ESPN. It’s too bad that ESPN wants more games with the Orange folk because we don’t owe them ( ESPN) any favors the way they have treated UConn over the years.
I detest both of them.

Hard to stay rational when contemplating Lady Vols basketball. Their sneaky, dishonest, borderline criminal attempt to destroy our program and the primitive, delusional behavior of their fan base combine to leave this poster forever wishing nothing but the worst for their program. It’s why I’ve watched several LV games this season..always hoping they’ll stumble. It’s why I lurk on VolNation and delight in the angst of their fans - and nash my teeth at the crude and ignorant anti-UConn commentary. The 2020-2021 “series” is unfortunate, but reasonably understandable in that it is ostensibly for good, charitable purposes. That’s it. Rivalry ? That question was resolved years ago. By any statistical analysis UConn is ahead by a definitive margin in the 23 previous matchups. Overall “program legacy” ? Same result. UConn has surpassed every Tennessee achievement (and faster) by a wide margin. Absolutely none of the above is altered in any way by the final score of Thursday’s game. However, trying to be rational, the final score will be UConn 82 Tennessee 55. Surrendering to happy irrationality : UConn 101 Tennessee 0.

Tennessee is finally getting some decent coaching. Davis and Horston are for real. Their length and rebounding may give us some trouble; with the exception of one 3 pt specialist, their whole roster is >= 6'0". Having said that, UConn wins 81 – 67.

I honestly think it is going to be a battle and I am not convinced we wont be tight starting the game. I can't wait to see who plays at their best.

I would not be surprised if an x-Tennessee player might deliver a bit of a pep talk prior to the game :).

I've watched several of their games and see a much improved, inconsistent team. So is UConn. It would not surprise me if the team that gets hot first wins and I also wish it were on campus. UConn wins 76-54.

Like many I don't know which UConn teams shows up and also which Lady Vol team shows up. How will each team handle that they're playing each other. Do the Lady Vol players come in with an attitude that we have something to prove more then just winning a game. We are the Lady Vols! Do the UConn players come in with a similar attitude, we are UConn and this is our house. In other words is this more then just a game between two good teams.

Lady Vols have more size which could cause UConn problems. UConn runs a more efficient offense and IMO is a better defensive team. UConn has more experience playing big games and its a UConn home game. UConn 72 Lady Vols 59.

Can any of those that say Coach Harper is doing a better job coaching please give some or ANY support of this perception with some facts???? Is scoring up over last year? Is their efficiency better? Is the Assist to Turnovers significantly improved? Are they holding teams to a lower average and efficiency rating? Their pathetic OOC was already made when KJH inherited this team and while she said she wants to improve it, nothing shows yet. The truth is this is the exact team as it was the last few years, sans Holly tears in the postgame pressers and the “I don’t know” quotes.
Yes, Kelli is more media savvy and the mood is seems significantly better but they still haven’t played the teeth of the SEC schedule yet to make “Coaching improvement” proclamations.

Have to disagree with you....Dee Cantor I think is one of the better referees doing women’s basketball.

One of my all time favorite posts. I don't understand why some UCONN fans want to forgive and forget, but I do respect their right to that crazy opinion. ;)

But YES if I could like your post 1,000 times I would do so happily!!! I especially liked the line in bold print from your post!

UConn wins 85-54 hehehe. And because of the close games UConn’s had and the loss to Baylor I imagine the huskies will come out 110%. Meg scores 34 and Liv has 8 blocks.

The LV’s are talented but not tested. They are long and they will play hard. In the end, the stage will be too big for TN.

UConn wins 72-58.

Surprised at the high scores. I think this will be somewhat ugly, UConn 67-56
