Prognosticators Game 10 (Georgetown) Predictions

Georgetown has some size and experience (3 Srs, 3 grads), but they do not do much well. UConn's third game in 5 days, so bench will play a lot. Look for Mir to have a good game. Huskies roll 95 – 37 .

Hoya saxa - What rocks
Well I'll be damned (my priest tells me this). Goya Saxa in google translates "What Rocks". But, google translates has nothing for just plain "Hoya". Maybe they should be known as the Hoya Saxas.

Uconn 84-38 lot of bench play today after sitting against Ten and no Paige I would imagine.

go to their home page and look at the stats. Their shooting percentages are low, I mean really low. and this is a game where Liv is taller than any opponent.
You don't think I've already looked them over? I'm well aware of Georgetown. And your point?

The term hoya is an Ancient Greek word usually transliterated from οἵα as hoia from the word hoios (οἷος) meaning "such" or "what" as in "what manner of", and is used in certain Biblical quotations. Saxa is Latin for "rocks" or "small stones".

UCONN 93 - Gtown 39 to bring attention to number dyslexia called dyscalculia; MOV of 54.

Saxa Hoya! (What rocks!)
So is the Hoya part "What" or is it the "Rocks" ? Usually the Greek & Latin are inverted, so I am going with ROCKS.

As the cheer for the Gtown men's basketball when Patrick Ewing was playing used to go, "Let's go Hoyas!" repeated three times, "Let's go ROCKS" goes better than the short attention span theatre: "Let's go WHATS?!?"

If they would have shifted to "Let's roll ROCKS!" they could have done advertizing for a Pennsylvannia brewery Rolling Rock.....

UConn 92-39 with Paige sitting it out or playing very little. A chance for Nika to show if she is the real deal.
Other than the score this might be the most important story-line of this game, followed fairly closely by Anna attempting to regain her confidence. Both seem to be suffering from a crisis of confidence. In Anna's case because of last year at least we have a floor on our expectations, but in Nika's case it is different.

Some still have high expectations, largely based on comments regarding practice, a comparison by CD to Jennifer Rizzotti, knowing she was injured early, and perhaps because they have seen significant video on her.

Others point to the horrible numbers so far, and a general lack of success in game conditions, and a belief she is not the defender she was advertised to be. That camp appears to be one bad game with significant minutes away from declaring her a bust.

This game may take on even more importance than it should regarding her role for the rest of the season. I don't think one game should, but on the other hand her opportunities to show she belongs are quickly running out. Very soon she has to succeed on the court or be religated to an insignificant role, and this game could be the best opportunity she will have all year.

Could actually be good thing for them to play without Paige, as the offence looks lost without her meaning she stays in the game at all times usually. At some point in games she needs a break so time to learn to score without her out there!

With the news of both Paige and Anna out, I'm changing my prediction from 105 - 40 to 92 - 45, it's still in UConn's favor.
