I’m a product of my environment. As a coach, I’ve taken thing from a lot of people, from teammates like Jen, Jamelle and Rebecca as well as Coach Dailey and Coach Auriemma. People who knew me at UConn probably wouldn’t recognize me when I coach,” she laughs. “I’m intense, demanding, sometimes sarcastic and a lot more vocal than the UConn fans might remember. We play a little like UConn; we like to run and play defense.”
Carla told me herself she likes the ways Geno coaches and has incorporated many aspects into her way of coaching. Of course, Geno has always modified his systems to fit the talent so there will be variations but, yeah, Carla is a branch off Geno’s coaching tree
"A little Geno, a little Jen, a little Jamelle, and a lot Carla". Sorry, I think branch off the coaching tree says something stronger than she was quoted as saying in the interview. Maybe more accurate to say that she, like most coaches,, is a twig off many coaching trees.
