Princeton 80- Penn 44. 18 in a row for 22-1 Tigers.

What did Berube do at UConn and when? Not familiar with her.

Watched the late part of the game. Princeton looked good. Two with height. Will be rooting for them in the tourney.

Freshman Ellie Mitchell had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals off the bench for Princeton.
Perhaps. her best all-around game.

And one of the Penn kids, another freshman Padilia was able to hit some amazing shots in the loss.
Watch out for her...fearless from distance.

She was a member of the iconic 1995 team and co-captain of the top ranked 1997 team that lost in the Elite 8 to Tennessee who eventually won it all. My understanding is that when the Princeton job opened up last year Geno made an immediate call to them about Carla taking the job. Her numbers at Tufts were tremendous. One thing about Geno, he is incredibly loyal and supportive of his former players. She will likely be a top tier coach one day.

Mitchell had a solid game. She is second on the team in rebounds and third on the team in steals and only averaging 16 minutes per game.

Berube was noted for being a very cool, dependable player, particularly under pressure. On a team that included POY Wolters, it was Berube that Summitt said was the key player for Tennessee to stop.

Watch this short video of the 1995 national championship game vs Tennessee. With about 10 seconds left in the game you’ll see a young sophomore calmly step to the line and hit two clutch foul shots. It was at that moment that I realized that the impossible was really going to happen and that UConn was about to win the national championship. Thank you Carla Berube !

This team needs to watch how hard their new coach played. Warrior.

So, foul shots are suppose to go in the basket?

Massey has Princeton at number seven, ahead of Stanford and behind Northwestern. Those two teams are real sleepers in the tournament; hopefully UConn doesn’t have to play either of them in the first three rounds.

Berube was the ultimate glue guy. She did what you needed to win.

She is an excellent coach for Princeton. And Princeton is really outstanding in the IVY League. But they will be ranked 12-16 in the NCAA and go out in round one. Their current ranking (#23?) is deceiving. It is like Cincinnati has a fine record this season, but they have no chance against anyone good.

Do you think that Princeton is the limit of her coaching career? I think she has a huge upside.

Thank you for this. It was so great watching this video first thing this morning. Kara on the bench sobbing in disbelief is iconic!

Really? Then explain how Massey has them number seven, ahead of Stanford? What is the basis for your opinion?

Experience. I have a keen awareness of how the NCAA views the Ivy League.
And anyone that ranks Princeton ahead of Stanford should find a new line of work.

Not at all. Geno Auriemma coached in several spots before he came to UCONN. And it was his intention to stay about 5 years and move on. Anyone can advance from anywhere, if they are good.

They lost in OT at Iowa. Iowa is Top 20 and 14-0 at home. Go someplace else with your hate.
Hate? That's what you assume about someone who says something with which you disagree? Why not simply tell me how good you think Cincinnati is? Their claim to fame is they lost in OT to Iowa? Does that show in their win column or their loss column?

A computer did, and it’s the most respected Stat site in the industry.

It shows how good they are, hater.

Well, let's walk back the "hater" comments a bit as this should be a passionate discussion to validate different opinions. Princeton is a very, very good team and is worthy of a 25 (or better) ranking. While Massey is a very good tool, it is not the "end all, be all" tool to properly assess teams, it is a great place to start though. Using this years teams, I would say, Stanford is still better than Princeton and would beat them 4 out 5 times. I would also say that @Longtime fan while stating his disagreement is being too aggressive and not supporting his/her dissention with any fact, games or supporting cases as to why he thinks this years Princeton team should be a 12-16 ranked team (45-64th seeding). It does not make sense that Princeton would be that low at all. A 5-7 seed seems more appropriate to me.

Thanks for your views and dialogue and let's just try to lift up the thread and information, not divide and polarize.
