Prediction-Refs will determine tonight's game

The way this games is called is going to be huge. Arizona moves the ball the well, but the identify perceived mismatches and taking guys 1 on 1 is a primary part of their offense as well. If they are allowed to get away with pushing off defenders or the refs call it extremely tight, it could be a big edge for 'Zona.

Either way, UConn has to continue to run offense and hopefully draw some fouls of their own. Hoping the refs aren't a talking point after. Hoping for a well played game by both teams.

As someone that doesn't watch a lot of non Uconn Bball, it seems we get called for a lot of touch fouls. Do we just play D that way more than most teams? BYU game seemed like the halves were referred by different folks, IMO. Did our D change that much or did the refs?

That is just so weird to me.

I admit I am an old man. And I do remember when physicality was such a big deal.in the BE that the conference adopted a 6 foul rule.

Except the Big East ref is notoriously bad. And Gaffney is in the running for worst in class.

Was very proud the way the team played tonight, especially with Reed and Mullins out.

It's early on and maybe it is only a few games, but I don't like when defenders are vertical and offensive players are allowed to use and elbow or shoulder to rock them back a few feet to take space. I know that happened at least once with Ball & Stewart and a few times their center was elbowing Reibe right in sternum. Thought Peat got away with it a few times, but was very impressed with his game overall.

Still, my big takeaway it that our team, missing two starters, and didn't do well on the boards, still came back to take the lead with a few minutes to go.

The only thing I have to say is Peat traveled on his last basket..rewatched game yesterday..

Two crucial missed calls (or non- calls) cost us dearly: (1) The crazy pivot traveling multi-directional circus shot by Bradley (which even most Arizona fans are admitting was a travel) and (2) the equally obvious foul on Silas toward the end that was called a turnover.
