Unofficial the athlete has to pay for expenses. Official the school pays for it. Every student athlete can only have 5 official visits.

Unofficial means the coach can shoot some hoops with the recruit. Official means you can't. Or something like that.

UConn may want to save officials for the fall. Even if he were to commit today, he'd come on an official visit on a fall weekend probably with a group of other recruits.

I think that's just the way Hurley likes to recruit. Someone was telling me on Twitter that Hurley's modus operandi at URI was unofficials in the summer, officials first month of Fall semester, quick commitments and then an almost completed class by October.
