What a bad loss for Arizona.
You can throw out the record book when West TAMU and Arizona meet on the hardwood.
Some crazy scores. I do have to bear in mind UConn lost to Columbia last year.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the hour and a half drive west to Greensboro today and the game wasn’t streamed or on the radio so just followed some people on twitter. But glad to see the Pack won and hung tight with a quality team.@FanInNC you know if y'all would have lost today, I would have gotten in my car, drove to the coliseum, and personally ran your whole team out of Greensboro. But y'all prevailed
I know its only preseason but Joni Taylor's days at A&M appear to be numbed. Probably should have stayed at Georgia...
Game like this I would have put in the walk-ons, a cheerleader and a mascot to cover my potential loss. 🤣And it's not like Mizzou rolled over. Three of their starters played more than 35 minutes. That by itself seems odd to me in an exhibition vs a D2 team, unless they have several walk-ons.
Missouri did have three key players missing,, which could be part of the reason they played heavy minutes. And it's not like Mizzou rolled over. Three of their starters played more than 35 minutes. That by itself seems odd to me in an exhibition vs a D2 team, unless they have several walk-ons.
Mizzou is gonna be bad.And it's not like Mizzou rolled over. Three of their starters played more than 35 minutes. That by itself seems odd to me in an exhibition vs a D2 team, unless they have several walk-ons.
Gamecocks were up 19 or 20, then got sloppy with a bunch of turnovers and missed free throws. About what you'd expect from an exhibition. They will need someone other than Tessa to make threes if they are going to beat great teams. Makeer looked nervous - 0-3 on threes, five turnovers, lots of missed free throws. McDowell didn't play - apparently sick. Going to need a lot of growth through the season by a lot of players to be truly great.Would love to hear from some Gamecock or Tar Heel fans about the exhibition. Box score watching it seems both sides should be encouraged. Unc seemed to keep it close and get contributions from several different players, 5 in double figures not including Aarnisalo who I think will be one of their better players (just had to face Raven Johnson first game at a new school jk). SC scored the way I think they should with their offensive talent. And I love Johnson and Latson together offensively. Quintessential shooter and slasher side by side, but both can do both if that makes sense
I've been dusting off the cobwebs of my big ten plus account this evening. Watching Iowa and watching Maryland earlier. IDK what to make of Iowa, I saw they have been top 25 in some polls/previews. They certainly have pieces. Ava Heiden got hyped a lot last year, I think she'll play a lot better this year. She looked good (of course vs D2 comp). Emily Rodriguez is kind of a bucket. Good size and can create her own shot. They still have Stuelke. But the big ten is a beast. And idk about their guard play, though it is senior laden.
Last musing which I really wanted to talk about. Random but Pania Davis at Florida State. 6'6 D II transfer, has looked good in both of her pre season games. I'm excited for her.
Question: has Edwards increased her effective shooting range?I was more focused on what SCar wasn't . doing well.
I think it's pretty clear that the SCar returning bench players have gotten better, but bench overall will be a work in progress.
Early foul trouble for Okot was concerning.
Tessa and Latson and Edwards were good.
UNC started 1st Q and 2Q with nice segments but it was pretty much double figures most of the way. USC lost garbage time Pretty decisively which might be a bad sign.
Yeah. I think so.Question: has Edwards increased her effective shooting range?
