Pre game media- ucla

New day. We come out looking for 3s. We can’t win another ship if we can’t hit 3s. However if certain people not named Alex start 0 for 5/6 then we need to adjust to grind it out, hoping we can survive and advance. In this version of the game, Ross will be big. Hopefully Silas plays and he can bring his A game.

I expect Cronin to come out and double down on Taris, which should open up uncontested 3s, but we have to knock them down.

When they come chasing out to the three point line after the double team, we should pump fake dribble in and take a two. We are good at those.

Great story oin NY Post about UConn and UCLA coaches, but dont see it on-line. Here is good quote:

The most entertaining part of this showdown might be monitoring which animated coach — the Bruins’ Mick Cronin or the Huskies’ Dan Hurley — gets a technical foul first.

Hurley was pretty good on Friday about keeping his composure.

Daly Dose of Hoops has a really good one. Made me like Mick Cronin tbh. He and Hurley it seems are cut from the same cloth.

When a very good UConn team lost to UCLA in the 1995 tourney, these were the assistant coaches:

  • Howie Dickenman
  • Karl Hobbs
  • Tom Moore
31 years later, one of them is still a current Husky.

I still think had we won that game we would have run the table in similar fashion to what UCLA did.
