Loved the way they played today.

On a leadership level, another example of Vital being a great senior leader, but it was noticeable that Brendan Adams was the second most vocal guy on the floor gathering the players together. Brendan Adams is ready to be handed the torch for being next year's vocal leader.

Not sure how he did it, but Adams also noticeable stepped up his handle tonight too. Looked strong and confident bringing the ball up vs pressure just about all night.

Yeah we beat a team by 15 even though we went 6/25 from 3 on a lot of open looks. Forced a bunch of live ball turnovers which helped with the offense.

Carlton played well when he wasn't shuffling his feet. Whaley was a pick and roll D God (but he probably needs to cool it on the mid range Js... not going in during games). Akok's stroke looked good today when he confidently decided to take the shot and went up fluidly.

Whaley is something else on those pick & pops/hedges. Lightning quick feet and hands. Between this game and Houston, he’s probably caused at least 4-5 TOs. Added benefit is that it demoralizes the offense to have things totally unravel on what should be the start of the offensive set.

Starting guards were 5-21 and 3-13 from 3. Yuck.

Starting guards were 11-12 from the line. Yay.

Whaley can really disrupt when he jumps the pick and roll. He is good at because he moves his feet and keeps his torso vertical. He doesn't lunge and get caught off balance. And he can recover quickly to find his guy in the paint.

He deflects all the passes, and Akok blocks all the shots. Boeheim would love him some Whaley.

I swear we play better when we run the court a decent amount of times. It seems as if we're a bit looser and fluid on O. Just me thinking here.

Well we’re down to seven players- eight when Wilson is cleared. But the seven who played tonight played ball like you want to see, like you hoped all year you would see.

Kudos to Whaley and Carlton coming up big after the last game.

Same for Gaffney in his first start, Bouknight for keeping the fouls under control and strutting his stuff, and Akok looking for his shot more often. The passing was better, too.

We will need to shoot better against better teams - still 24% from three.

But this was a welcome pressure reliever.

On mostly good shots. Very few stupid drives or desperation heaves.

Gaffney had one turnover tonight. One.

ESPN has it at 2. The bad pass to Vital (he got a hand on it, so some may give it to him, but it was a bad/behind him pass) a few minutes into the 1st half in transition, and the bad lob to Akok on a failed alley oop (again got a hand on it, but bad pass) with 2.5 min left.

Still very promising playing that many more minutes than he's used to.

Shhhhh!!! Don’t ruin the narrative!

13 assists
10 TO's
9 steals
7 blocks
+2 on offensive rebounds and +2 on total rebounds.

Throw in the 93%+ FT shooting and you have all the statistics to back up a claim of a focused team whose players knew their roles on O and D.

Going forward through the rest of this year and in to next season, it's obvious a front court of Whaley, Akok, and Sid getting most of the minutes is an athletic, defensively disrupting lineup with enough variety on offense. Especially since Sid has shown a proclivity to hit the corner 3 to spread and flatten the defense. Josh can get minutes as needed. Yes, the lineup is thin and will take some abuse down low, but it has to happen.
