After the last two games I kinda want to see them play some more. Seemed to suddenly bring intensity and urgency to the court. Sure, some of the usual mistakes will be made, but it's fun watching that kind of UConn hoop.

They could play in the CBI but it would be pretty lame. If we play in it (I don't think we should-we are above that), we HAVE to win it considering it includes a lot of smaller schools.

I'd take a CBI or CIT invite in a second just to get the kids more minutes, but I seriously doubt the powers that be would accept that.

No, a waste of time at this point. Just get some rest and plan for next year. The NIT is a joke.

I'm not sure what the NIT requirements are but this loss putting us below .500 would DQ us, no? I would like to humiliate Cuse twice inside 3 months.

I believe they recently changed the requirement so that you don't have to be at least .500.

NIT, sure. But the last thing we need is Adams blowing his ACL in the CBI.

But him blowing out his ACL in the NIT is fine with you?

Look, I know it's been a tough year, but these guys aren't fine china. You don't put them on a shelf and stare at them. You let them play and work on their skill sets so that they improve and grow...and win national championships the next year(s)...

Appears that the requirements have been changed. Although I wasn't aware of this and doesn't seem like anyone else covering the team has been either

I had the same thought right after the game - kind of want to see some more games for this group. More for them to have more time together on the road, but also for the fans to show their appreciation.

Yeah, Adams needs to heal, but (total guess) whatever's wrong with his ankle isn't going to be different come next fall based on whether he plays a handful more games.

I want to see this team play some more, even though I highly doubt it happens. Plus the nice added benefit of infuriating the people who haven't stopped complaining about the downfall of UConn basketball all season

If we do play, please start the young guys and let the seniors have a few spot minutes at best, maybe a nice ovation from the home crowd to honor them for their time here.

But the real value in this is getting some game time for the 2017-18 team.

On the UCONNHUSKIES website in the post game write up of the Cincy game, it mentions that "they will have plenty of time to heal for next season." I assume that means no CBI/CIT.

Do we have a shot at the NIT? They removed the must be over .500 rule and one of the bracketologies I was looking at had Davidson (8-10 A10 for the 9 seed) in the field

Maybe but it doesn't seem like the AD thinks an invite is coming due to the above quote.

The CBI is pay to play as in you have to essentially buy home games. We played in it in Mick's second year and played a game at Bradley. We lost. It sucked. Don't do it.

Surely there's no way we would turn down an NIT invite if one were extended to us?
I doubt they would turn it down if it came, but I don't think an invite is coming.

The CIT is for mid-majors. The AAC can't be a league they invite teams from.

Looking through last year's list, it doesn't look like any American teams played in either last year.

Here are your conferences eligible for the CIT:

America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

I know, but the CBI only adds the MW, C-USA and maybe the A-10 to their list. The P5, BE, and American schools won't go near that.
