Geez, that was one of the players I didn't think I had to worry about for next season. I hope he's back. Year two in Hurley's system could be special for him.

I mean, that was a consistent theme. They were the better team, genuinely, but there were still moments that could have flipped, and that was one. A difficult turn of events given how it felt it was being called elsewhere.Watch the replay... Solo was hit hard there.
Yep. It really did come down to just not making enough of our open shots.People are saying they are surprised it was so close. You do realize that our defense on them was just as good. They were the best 3pt shooting team in ten tournament and we held them to 2 makes.
We did everything we wanted to do in the game defensively limited transition 3 pt shooting and kept them off the glass and forced them to be a half court team all game. It was a few plays here and there that we usually make that we didn’t.
The transition offense has been bad all year and it cost us at a critical junction in the game the Tarris steal and solo miss followed by their 3 was a killer. Cut it to 4 there and game pressure goes on them. Things might be a little different.
Its bad for college basketball that James breeding gets to be anywhere near the tournament nevermind a championship game. He's maliciously badBreeding's call on Silas 5th was atrocious. You let Michigan hold all night and then you call that?
There are very reasonable things for us to complain about. At the same time, the complexion of the game is different with a healthy Yaxel.Yaxel was banged up and you could tell.
That's the thing, Yaxel bring hurt created a big opportunity. Although I have to say that Demary was really hobbling a lot this game. He reinjured his ankle at one point early.I mean, that was a consistent theme. They were the better team, genuinely, but there were still moments that could have flipped, and that was one. The margin was small, which means we could point to probably two calls we thought we not great (I won't name the obvious). But it's a game of breaks, and we had a not healthy Yaxel, which was in our favor.
You can be that guyNot to be that guy, but the glazing of Yaxel and Cadeau and 14 out of 15 50:50 calls going michigans way, it just felt like the narrative was for them to win and it was going to happen. They rarely talked about UConn, other than how it affected Michigan’s chances to win.
I’m surprised I’m saying these things cuz these takes usually sound corny to me, but it really did feel like that.
Reed was 4/12. That's because of Mara.Okay, wasn't gonna complain, but missing 2 flagrants on one play is pretty egregious.
And, AK played 40 minutes. If he had a little rest, he might have hit it.Everything was against us. Our best players were in immediate foul trouble, we played our C- game without the starters playing together and we still would've gotten it to 1 point with 22 seconds left if AK hit the three.
Given how stacked this years draft class already is, this shouldn’t be a tough decision to return for a year.
This suing for eligibility thing is weird especially when even regular students have a time-clock for college and eligibility issues based on credits. I wonder how courts even get involved when even regular students have to abide by a certain clock. On one hand, watching players develop from freshman to senior is largely going to end with NIL and the portal. On the other hand, we will see more and more players try to sue their way to extra eligibility so they can continue to play in college once they've developed.
Cam Spencer wasn't our first choice. We don't win that title without anyone but him from the portal. And I think Hurley is just as good a talent evaluator as May. Sometimes it is just luck. They did an excellent job on roster construction this year. It didn't seem like a home run before the season started but sometimes you just nail it.
Demary saying he has a decision also has me thinking about next year. If he leaves and Mullins leave we’re going to have quite a bit of turnover. We have lost to the eventual champions so many times.
That was sort of confusing to me. I haven’t seen him in any mocks so perhaps portaling?Tough decision?? Where’s Silas going if not here?
Can't call out a blatantly missed call if our center struggled to score...?Reed was 4/12. That's because of Mara.

Well that settles it.Us clanging threes all second half was not because the players were anticipating a no-call foul.
No. I meant to quote an Excalibur post about Mara's impact. Don't know why your's was there when I ended up posting. No intent to invalidate your opinion. Can't call out a blatantly missed call if our center struggled to score...?
The reason Alex's arm comes down, causing what is the hold, was because the Michigan player parked himself over AK back, pushing the entire body, including the arm to come down. Not a foul, never mind a flagrant. That hook and hold on AK was a really bad call. They were both doing it, not sure how you call that.
Yes, we lost to a better team, but I don't think we lost to the better team tonight.Lost to a better team. Team left it all out there.
Quit whining and move onI agree. They absolutely were the best team ALL year. But here is the thing. They would not have won tonight, had it not been for the officials. The best teams do not always win, and all things being even, the best team would have lost (IMO). It is what it is. Michigan, all year long, was absolutely the best team.
