Maybe it's just me, but I feel Kelly has had her longest streak of bad games over the last four games - since she landed on her bum against Syracuse. She has forced several passes and missed a few open passes, her shot is off and her offense aggressiveness seems to be fading. She has made a few nice moves here and there but it has not consistent. Her defense has been stellar but she has even been in foul trouble in 2 of the 4 games - very uncharacteristic even though I acknowledging there have been a few bad calls.

Last 4 games:
6/17 2FG
1/8 3FG
4/4 FT
5.25 Rebounds
7 assists to 12 turnovers
5 blocks
6 steals
19 total points scored

12.5% 3FG
35% 2FG
28% total FG

It won't get easier and I hpe she can work her way out of it. We need her to be productive offensively - even if it's not scoring.
I agree. In the SF game, it was the first time I've seen Geno all over her in a time out. She was not covering her man who was making 3-pointers. You know she will eventually snap out of it.

Other than Caroline's game saving performance when you take Tiff out of the picture you have Bria, Kelly & KML who collectively went 2 for 16 from 3 pt land and 5 for 26 from the floor overall. So of their 26 shots 16 were from outside. Its hardly a strong showing.
Hey the world isn't ending - even with stinko stats they still managed to pull out a gutty win. It is what it is. . .
I said they played strong down the stretch, not the whole game. They did play well down the stretch with both Caroline and Bria hitting important shots and the whole group played excellent D.

My recollection is she was not 6-5. Maybe 6-2 or 6-3. Also kind of a typical European player.. one dimensional, excellent outside shooter, not much else. Kind of soft. Will help USF because she adds to their offense but that's about it.
Inga Orekova was 6'2" although during the game she was referred to as 6'4".

I posted earlier this morning but I it did not go through...hmmm...anyway, I was saying how much of a mess Bria Smith was and how surprised I was to see her play so poorly. I thought Smith fouled out in the first 10min of the game. Schimmel had 20pts( but shot the ball 20x, 4/4 FT), 8 turnovers, only 3 assists. The only bright spot was Hammonds

Bria Smith is an excellent slasher and finisher on the offensive end, but I have never seen her hit a jump shot, not even a 5-footer. So defending her is not very difficult, just play off her, give her an outside shot and keep her from penetrating. She is a decent ballhandler and defender, and she is a bigger guard, so she is a decent player, but could be an excellent player if she could expand her offensive game.

For me, this game is typical of the often similar responses of many folks to ONE game. Looking over the games to now, there have been hints often loud at this teams' tenative at first response to aggressive contact. There are some players whose games become less effective when this type of play is allowed. Physical teams that can get us to foul them will continue to be a tough opponent. All that being what it is, this team presents more problems for the opponent. I like this team and on any night always remember when the stars are aligned in any one game they are capable of shooting any team including Baylor to death. Last six games, guard play is often dominant and we have a variety of talent at that position.
