Possible match up vs BYU

Schedule so far:

Texas (H)
Arizona (H)
BYU (Boston)- Possible

Here is how I would like to see the schedule round out:

Two H/H road games against the P4: Florida, Illinois
MSG game: Syracuse

Two games against Ivy programs: Yale, Harvard

One game against an HBCU: Howard

Two games against New England flagships: New Hampshire, Maine
We're overdue for a UMass game.

Load up on Big 10 teams. They will be a much easier win than SEC or Big 12, and they will me metric warriors as the season progresses.

The gift that keeps on giving!

I'm not sure I understand why any fan of the program (or the school) wouldn't be in favor of this. One of the best things the school can do is increase its presence in the Boston media market. The 2024 regionals was a great first step. The Fenway Bowl was a nice little touch.

This could be very beneficial. We claim NYC as Storrs South with our presence at MSG. If we can make a reasonable claim to Boston being Storrs North, we would be far more attractive to any all sports conference looking to improve media revenues.

If the tradeoff of no longer doing Maui, Atlantis or similar MTE's ends up being a P level non-conference game in TD and MSG, I see it as a no brainer.
REGULAR ROTATION

TD Garden, Boston
MSG, NYC
Barclays Center, Brooklyn

Then I would try to schedule neutral games in big city venues hosting in the upcoming March tourney.

2026

Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis (FF)
Capital One Arena, DC (East)
United Center, Chicago (Midwest)
Wells Fargo Center, Philly

I've seen Dybantsa in-person... Kis is quite the baller, almost certainly a 1-and-done.

Which makes me wonder... Doesn't BYU require a 2-year mission? What's going on with that?
Only members go on missions and
LDS membership is not required to be a student at BYU . But you are required to adhere to the rules of behavior
Non LDS students are also required to get a letter of recommendation from an ecclesiastical leader of their denomination
Probably because behavioral expectations are not typical and that want kids able to deal with it.
Why you ask would a non LDS want to go there . According to non LDS attendees
“If you’re really a serious student interested in an education without the craziness that surrounds modern campus it’s a perfect place .
It’s has some excellent programs especially in life sciences according to a pre med major
A degree from their carries significant prestige
Compared to other privates is inexpensive
A caviet
you have to have a pretty strong willed to resist conversion
If a pretty girl want to go out it’s okay if she wants you to go to temple your being worked on .

Sounds like any Catholic college 60 years ago . Now you know more about BYU than you ever suspected.

Total no brainer, especially since it’s not at the expense of home games. She either doesn’t understand there will be just as many home games, or she’s totally missing the big picture. Or both.

No Barclays. When in NYC, UConn plays MSG!

-> Exploring Storrs North

Word came out this week from the Boston Globe that the UConn men, who are not playing in a multiteam event next season (keeping Dan Hurley on the mainland) were exploring a game vs. BYU at TD Garden in Boston. Most on social media seemed to like the idea, some didn’t. AD David Benedict explained on his X account:

“We’re replacing games that most couldn’t attend for local or regional locations and getting paid,” Benedict said. “These are neutral-site games, not home-and-homes, more fans, better financially. We’re going to continue to do what we can to remain relevant. (My emphasis). XL and Gampel games will be balanced. … We’re exchanging (multiteam events). Promoters have been driving scheduling and receiving the lion’s share of the money. No more.”

Anytime UConn can expand its footprint from New York to Boston, it’s a good thing. Huskies fans travel. <-

Benedict was pretty clear and said it 2 different ways and she still didn't understand. Lol
The proof will be an elite OOC game each season in XL and Gampel. Then some mix of MSG, Barkley’s and TD are fine.
If scheduling is so easy, why did we drop the ball so poorly on the quality of XL’s schedule and abscence of XL weekend games.

The thing with Dybantsa - foul throws are an adventure. Bring on Hack a non-Shaq.

I think the funniest part of this is that BYU wants a game in Boston and Boston College gets left swiped right out of the gate.

The road to becoming “The New England Program” has ended with them not even being “The Boston Program.”
Meanwhile, in Gotham City, UConn is in the process of turning Boston into Storrs North

Skip Barclays: not a great arena, horrible to get to.

If playing in NYC then play at the Garden
